Boise Hunter Homes

Our home from Boise Hunter Homes was purchased and completed in November 2022. We have had a few minor warranty concerns. I contacted Mike Crews about an update that he asked me to check on back during my walk-through in November. He arrived today within 10 minutes of the call as he said he would. He walked me through dealing with my Air Conditioning concern. Fast and efficient. I then asked Mike about 3 other minor warranty topics, and he asked me to submit a warranty request for each and they would be remedied individually. Mike explained the process for each additional request and what they would entail. Before he left, he asked if there was anything more he could do. While that seems very simple, it too often is not a part of other business models. Mike has been very responsive each time I have called or texted with him. He is a great representative of how Boise Hunter Homes deals with their customers. Still very pleased we purchased from Boise Hunter Homes and thank you Mike.

Would not recommend Boise Hunter Homes. Poor communication, not timely, many things stated that were incorrect or false. Over promise and under deliver would be the best way to describe the company

Deciding to retire and relocate 1400 miles away was a decision that my spouse and I processed for over a year. We did not know anyone who lived in Boise Idaho. However, after one visit to this remarkable environment and community, we were influenced to research the possibilities. I have had two custom homes built for me in Kansas City Missouri, and never lived anywhere else. This has and continues to be the best decision we have made in our 26 years of marriage. Finding a builder that would provide confidence needed to make this decision was not easy. However, after determining our desired location, it became apparent that Boise Hunter would be the best candidate to make this goal an accomplishment. From the very start, this organization made the process seamless. Harris Crossing had not been started when we decided on our lot and home plan. We have written to Boise Hunter naming multiple team members that have been professional, attentive, kind, and helpful. We flew back to Boise only one time in this process, meeting the design team working out every detail up to and including color of grout. This consideration to care a detail resulted in our confidence that this endeavor would be completed to our satisfaction. The continuation of attention toward making everything right for over a year later has shown us the professional integrity and committment that all should expect from a building experience. Thank you Boise Hunter, for assisting in making this remarkable journey unforgettable.

We built our home July-October 2015. Our experience with Boise Hunter Homes was and is positive, extremely positive. Our realtor, Chuck Rosco, did wonders in the process, as well as the Boise Hunter staff and our Building Superintendent, Garrett Short. Yes, things came up along the way, but realizing a home build is a living, breathing experience with many moving parts; we would report them to Chuck and Garrett, and things were fixed. Our build was a while ago when building was much slower. There is a lot of activity currently in Henry's Fork! Our warranty items were and are continuing to be done well. We love our floorplan (Sanctuary) and are very happy with our home. We continue to have great interaction with Boise Hunter Homes staff and subcontractors. We would and have recommended building a home with Boise Hunter Homes in the past two years to many of our friends and anyone who asks! Just wanted you to have some positive feedback in these extremely busy and trying times.

BUYER BEWARE. 18 months into our $500k purchase and have been dealing with issue after issue the entire time. Everything from cracking concrete and drywall to multiple paint issues to framing, siding, and roofing issues. Some since closing and we are now to the point where we are $10-15k on the hook to fix the remaining issues ourselves. I urge you to not close, no matter how much pressure is applied and guarantees are made, until 100% of your issues are addressed. We will now be replacing a driveway that is breaking apart at every control joint and currently has 4 major cracks after less than 8 months. These concrete issues do not appear to be unique after seeing many others in the Boise area with BHH homes dealing with the same problems. Be very diligent about getting contractors that have done work on model homes you have looked at, it appears contractors are hired at random (maybe lowest bid?). We know BHH can produce a very high quality home, we saw several when looking at their models and deciding on a builder, we just seem to have gotten the short end of the stick on a Foreman and contractors for our home. Maybe they have outgrown their ability to focus on quality and are now moving to quantity instead? Many items were fixed over a 12-18 month period after scheduling appointment after appointment, sometimes people would show up, sometimes not. Often we were told of a painter or other contractor that was no longer being used due to issues, not much solace for someone that has spent a half million dollars on what they thought was a high quality home. Even after a BHH hired Engineer stated our concrete control joints were not cut to standard depth, likely causing driveway cracking, no action was taken to remedy the problem. Now we cannot get any communication at all (email, phone, and even sent a letter to Mr. and Mrs. Hunter as a last resort attempt), I guess they have moved on to increase their build volume and not address the major issues of their next high paying customer. Their design and pre-build team is second to none. Some contractors such as cabinets, tile, and granite were outstanding, couldn’t have been happier with the way a few of these things went. Unfortunately, overall, it is the worst experience we have had with any purchase of any size. Smartest thing we could have done was walk away, as red flags started to pop up. Now we are left spending thousands to fix known issues, in addition to the hundreds of thousands we spent on a Boise Hunter home.

We have worked with nearly every builder in Southern Idaho and BHH is as creative and innovative as any. They are very well organized, making the entire process flow smoothly. Their designers do an awesome job of using client's ideas, while helping with their own marvelous tastes and experience. They are great at never getting stuck in a rut - always trying new things and building homes that are one-of-a-kind.

We have done hundreds of installations over the past five years for BHH and a number of other leading builders. BHH have a very tasteful design team, paired with some very innovative floorplans. On the other hand BHH lacks the quality that would be expected when buying a new home. I see it every day, starting with extremely out of plum, not square, and overall uneven framing. What you are left with is wavy bulging walls throwing everything else off that gets installed in the house. They hire too many careless contractors, and basically make them fend for themselves when it comes to getting installations started and complete. I cant remember the last time I did an install in one of their homes where there was a superintendent present at any point during the installation ( which would explain how some contractors get away with the things they do ). Seventy percent of the time I am unable to start my installation on the date they have me scheduled because there is another contractor there in my way or the house is being painted etc.., which I don't find out until I show up with my material, tools and installers. BHH is an extremely careless and overstretched builder who's main concern is their image in the community and tricking consumers into thinking they are getting a custom high quality home.

My clients were looking for a home in the Harris Ranch Subdivision and the only available model was just sold. The agents representing Boise Hunter Homes made their existing model home available. They would sell us their model home and rent back until a new model home was built. Very accommodating and professional. The quality of the home is outstanding and my clients are very pleased.

My husband and I had Boise Hunter Homes build a custom home for us. It was an incredible experience! We honestly feel like we hit the jackpot when we found this builder. It was amazing how smoothly the building progressed. They started the project in Sept. and we moved into our dream home Dec. 15 just in time for the holidays. We are so happy to recommend to our friends the Boise Hunter folks to build a home for them. We had heard for years how hard it is for a married couple to build a home together. Not so. The Boise Hunter staff working with us has given us some of our fondest memories. We wouldn't hesitate to have them build another home for us but since we are seniors we are happy to stay in the home of our dreams...this one. We had a fantastic build experience with Boise Hunter Homes. The entire team worked so well together to complete our project on time and on budget. We especially appreciated the help of BHH's design coordinator, who took us to all of our appointments with suppliers at the beginning of the project and made the process of achieving a harmonious look a pleasure. There were so many options that are standard for this builder and not an "upgrade"! We especially love the tall doors and high ceilings (a signature design feature of Boise Hunter Homes) that give our home such a spacious feel. As we watched our "Austin" being built we (and our neighbors observing the process) were impressed with the quality of the work at each stage and with the teamwork and professionalism of the subs hired by BHH. We love our new home and heartily recommend Boise Hunter Homes to anyone.

My husband & I considered moving to Boise last year. After discovering Boise Hunter Homes in Lakemoor, we looked no further. Their excellence in quality, design, value, attention to detail and cheerful assisstance was superior to any Builder we had ever experienced. In spite of the fact that our future purchase was conditional, they cheerfully worked with us in choosing a lot and a home plan. Next, we worked with the building coordinator to make minor customized changes. Then their design coordinator worked with us to make outside & inside color choices, masonry choices, tile, granite, cabinetry, etc. She helped us with suggestions that we had never thought of resulting in our customized dream home. This was the 5th home that we had built and we have never been so well counseled & aided in every detail making us confident that this was the BEST home we had ever chosen. Unfortunately, we were unable to make the move and still dream of our perfect home! I can assure you -- we would unconditionally recommend Boise Hunter Homes -- and we still dream of our "perfect home" in Lakemoor.
