Be wary of hiring Brad Doran. I am a subcontractor and was shorted over $18,000 and am now having to go after his client directly through a small claims action. You want your general contractor to pay his subcontractors or you will be exposed to Liens or legal action. Be aware this is not a contractor that pays his subcontractor bills.

I am an architect and have worked with Brad on a few projects and I hope to work with him on many more. Brad is the kind of contractor who I think really loves what he does for a living. I get the sense that he takes a real pride in his work and also considers his relationship with his clients and other professionals as very important to him. He is thoughtful, thorough, organized, highly skilled and seems eager to always be improving his business. The projects that I have worked with him on had a few difficult aspects to them but we were able to find thoughtful solutions without excessive delays or cost. I would highly recommend Brad and his team.

I worked with Brad the principle of Doran Construction and Design on the complete gut and remodel of my home in the Mission District of San Francisco. We went from a relatively personality-free, worn down Victorian to a modern home. I found Brad to be great to work with. He collaborated easily with the architect and structural engineer, was flexible around meeting times given my busy work schedule, and was fluent with trade-offs that are part of the design and build process. I'm more than pleased with the outcome of the work and regularly give Brad references.
