Purtell Design

It was an honour to build Brent's garden at RHS Cardiff Flower Show. His artistic insight is rare. Well informed clients will appreciate his eye for distilling a broad cultural influence into a sophisticated landscape design. In this garden, Brent shows his ability to understand public open space as an intimate and inspiring destination.

I had the pleasure of working with Brent from Purtell Design during his design of 2 medal winning RHS show gardens. I found his approach to garden design daring yet comprehensive with attention given to the environmental impact of garden design and construction. He was a breath of fresh air to work with and I would not hesitate to do so again in the future.

Brent put together a fantastic proposal for a landscaping project at my local church. Unfortunately we did not get the funding from the charity we were applying for in order to proceed but Brent produced a wonderful vision and plan which maybe one day we can get implemented. Throughout he was polite, punctual and flexible in all our dealings.

Brent designed the planting concept to update our garden, getting rid of ‘problem areas’ to create a contemporary yet not too formal feel. We’ve fallen in love with our garden and home again! The colors through the seasons are beautiful and he understood what we wanted and brought it to life perfectly. We now have a mini orchard, providing multiple varieties of apples, plums and pears, blossom in spring and vibrant colors in autumn plus the design is low maintenance so fits perfectly with our life! Brent worked brilliantly with ‘a brighter shade of green’ doing the hard landscaping, creating a stunning deck area, ‘she shed’, patio, sauna and hot tub area... they really gave us our dream garden :-)

Brent helped to design our cheam project, and worked closely with myself and my client to achieve her dream garden. I undertook the hard landscaping ,whilst Brent planted the new look flower beds . together we transformed a tired neglected garden into an amazing spaces for every one to appreciate.

Our garden was without structure and whilst not wanting a 'formal' one we did want it changed. Brent spent considerable time with us planning and choosing suitable plants that would achieve the desired result and remain within our budget. The job was completed in an orderly , tidy and timely way. We are very satisfied. Additionally Brent has returned to check and adjust some plant positions - very good work.
