Barry took over a water damage repair job when my initial contractor had something come up and had to leave interstate. Initially, I was happy to have a fellow Aussie doing the job and he seemed competent. He arranged for the flooring to be done, which was never completed, the flooring guy left several tiles missing from both bathrooms as he assumed they would be covered by vanities. Plus none of the caulking on the bathtubs had been replaced. Barry told me I had to take it up with the flooring contractor even though I had hired him to oversee the project. I wasn't happy about this but OK. Then he hired some guy to put in the baseboards and the guy did a totally half-assed job. When Barry came to inspect it I told him I wasn't happy as none of the baseboards were flush and seemed to be flimsily attached. Barry said he'd fix it, but then I made my biggest mistake. He told me I needed to pay him so he could pay the contractors under him, but that he'd totally finish the job. I stupidly did so, after which Barry evaporated. He stopped answering my calls and never returned my messages. Now I am trying to sell my house and have to hire someone to do all the work that didn't get done by Barry.

I hired this contractor to paint my house, which is cedar clad. The cedar had formally been stained with an opaque stain. Barry came out to do an estimate and his inspection revealed that I needed the front siding replaced, as the front of the house receives a lot of sun and some of the siding was very dry and starting to crack. He said I would need the whole front siding replaced as it all needed to match. I agreed to this and his siding crew was excellent. They were professional and respectful. His painting crew was something else. I wanted stain, but Barry said my house had been painted before and therefore needed to be repainted. This wasn't true. I didn't check his assertion at the time, which was my fault, but the siding had definitely been stained, as I still had some old siding stain in my garage. I also tend to believe the "professionals." The lead in charge of the painting crew either didn't ask me or insisted on a satin sheen for the paint, which I hate. The preparation was inadequate, but this is the norm among most house painters, and I watched as one of the workers did some cursory spraying of primer over the new siding ( I actually re-primed the siding myself - with a brush - when they were gone for the day). Then they wanted to spray-paint the whole house, including the gutters and trim, and didn't seem to understand that the trim was going to be a different color, so I had to stop the work. They were disrespectful and rude and obviously wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible. I had to call Barry to intervene, which he did and I could tell that he was humoring me and not sincere. I allowed them to finish the siding, but hired another painting contractor to paint the trim and gutters, which they did with a brush. They weren't much better, but at least they weren't disrespectful. I wrote a letter to Barry explaining why I couldn't pay for painting the trim. I would never use this firm again, based on their attitude and the terrible paint crew.

Trustworthy, courteous, reliable, professional. Knowledgable in all phases of construction. Small or large projects are not a problem for this company. I would recommend this company for any project.

After two months of playing phone tag with four other companies, my husband found this company via BBB. We are glad we did. They knew what they were doing and did a great job.
