Castino Painting and Home Services

I feel obligated to share my experience working w Castino, in an effort to help protect others from trusting this company with their home repair needs. We hired Castino, through a contractor, to repair our home's exterior stucco and paint to match existing color. The cost for this repair and paint job was well over $15,000. Prior to hiring Castino, we had two other incredibly reputable stucco repair companies also provide quotes. The two other companies took significant time explaining their repair process, and their contracts outlining the process, expected crew size, and number of days to complete this work, reflected their level of detail and were similar. All 3 companies' price quotes were comparable, so we chose to sign on with the contractor having Castino do the work, because we had a hired this contractor in the past, and was comfortable with him. Castino's crew showed up exactly on time, and as is customary when we hire anyone to work on or in our home, I meet the crew leader and asked for his timeline of what we can expect to be accomplished and by when. Knowing this was the first time Castino's crew leader had been to my house, and thus hadn't seen the amount of repair needed for himself, I was surprised when he told me he expected to repair all stucco day 1, paint day 2, and the job would be complete. Besides thinking paying a crew of 4 over $15K for just 2 days of work was incredibly high, I had learned enough about my home's stucco needs to know that wasn't the time needed to do a thorough job, and called the contractor to share my concern. As he had been in the past, the contractor was responsive and reaffirmed the crew was expected to take at least one full week to complete the repair and paint job, he came to review the crew's work at the end of day one, and after inspecting confirmed that more demo and repair needed to be completed. Castino's crew showed up the morning of day 2 with multiple large plastic containers of paint. Since it was obvious more demo and repair needed to be completed, and because it had been raining, I explained to the crew leader that there should be no painting started. Without any notice, the crew promptly left. I texted the contractor to ask him if he knew why they didn't stay to work on demo and repair and when we could expect them back. The contractor let me know he was meeting with the crew leader at my house that evening to review the job together. After the contractor and crew leader met, the contractor informed me that he requested no painting begin until all demo and repair was completed. After the crew leader was shown multiple areas, he agreed more demo and repair was in fact required. Day 3 Castino's crew, without any communication with my contractor or me, didn't show up at all. My contractor and I requested a meeting at my house with Roger Castino so we could all three see the work together and discuss how to proceed. Roger Castino refused to meet. He did however cash the check the contractor gave him for 50% of the total cost of the job, and said he will not allow his crew to come back to complete the work they were hired to do. I am sharing our experience in great detail to both property owners, and contractors who have subcontracted out to Castino, before you consider hiring Castino for any job, please consider whether you want to put your faith in a company that not only does poor quality work; is dishonest; puts the contractors' reputation who hires them at risk; and doesn't have the decency or courage to even meet to attempt to find resolutions to issues they caused. Do yourself and your home a favor and pass on considering Castino for your repair and improvement needs.

Castino is a "go to" place for all of your home repairs and maintenance. They have professionals who are quite skilled at what they do and are available when you need them. We had Roger and his crew paint our home and repair the outside and they did an amazing job.

Castino has installed crown molding, painted, remodeled my powder room and family room including rebuilding the fireplace. This was done over a period of years and we would not hesitate to hire them again. We have received many compliments on their work. The most recent job involved painting our kitchen cabinets and walls, painting our family room walls, building built in cabinets in the FM, rebuilding the FM fireplace, installing crown molding in the FM.
