I have worked with Chuck on 2 projects. The first went relatively successfully bc I took a very hands off approach. The project was for a smaller yard that was probably about 600 sq ft costing ~90K. The second project happened this year, 2018 for a much larger yard but my approach was more involved bc there were far more design elements involved (2 patio covers, fire pit, kitchen, water feature, etc). His team is very friendly and hard-working. However, Chuck's vision for design is a bit underwhelming. Additionally, he walked away with approx. 110K on a project that he refused to finish bc the Association brought up some issues that needing addressing. HIs pricing seemed fair at first, but when going through some of the line items with him, I soon found out his numbers were quite arbitrary and pulls them out of the sky on a whim. Thought he was professional, but clearly not when he went radio silent to my calls. Seek another contractor who has more design abilities, reliable, and professional.

Chuck is an excellent landscape architect. He designed a beautiful tropical back yard for me, including a waterfall, jacuzzi, BBQ, and lush landscaping. He has also completed smaller projects for me. Chuck has great vision and his staff is hardworking, clean, and friendly. I would highly recommend C J Ver Burg Landscape for any landscaping project!

in 2013, Dutch provided several options and illustrations of what it would look like. Once we decided, he scheduled the work, and he and his team worked diligently and professionally to create our front succulent garden. Dutch went above and beyond expectations by recommending wiring be routed from the 3 areas needing watering (slope, side yard and front succulent garden) and did the work at no extra cost. The results were wonderful, and the garden is still flourishing. I would recommend Mr. Verburg if anyone wishes to have professional landscaping done at a very fair price.

We are sooo glad we chose C J VER BURG LANDSCAPE to redesign our backyard. Chuck met with us several times to get a feel for what we wanted and then drew up plans. we all went over the plans and made a couple of changes. Chuck then drew up another set of plans. He also told us that during the construction we could also make changes. With Chucks knowledge and experience our dream backyard was realized.Chuck gave us a plan,met all deadlines, and actually came in under the budget. In the evening when we are just relaxing in the backyard we always say a little thank you to Chuck.

Re-design and re-build of patio including hardscape, outdoor kitchen, and shade cover. Chuck was recommended to us by a patio furniture store as someone who could do a major patio redesign. We didn't know him from Adam but decided to give him a call. We also called several others and received quotes from four or five of them. Chuck came out, listened to our thoughts and ideas, shared some of his, and put a sketch together. We reviewed the sketches and revised some things and he wrote a statement of work covering our INTENT but leaving room for us to make DETAIL decisions as we saw things develop. This flexibility was critical to the outcome since we could not envision every detail of the project up front and we did not suffer the consternation of deciding everything without seeing anything. Since his price was in line with the others, this flexibility became the deciding factor. As the project unfolded, we tweaked details. Some things Chuck wasn't thrilled with and some things weren't as we expected so we discussed and altered them before we committed to something. While his price for the scope of work wasn't cheap, we certainly feel as though we got our money's worth, and no matter what details we tweaked along the way, we remained within the scope of work and therefore, within the original quoted price - another critical factor on a project like this. All in all, we are thrilled with the work that was done, the way it turned out, and the process of ensuring we were happy in the end. Oddly enough, we now consider Chuck and his wife among our friends. You can't go wrong with this guy!

We had the pleasure to work with Chuck and his team with our new home. Our front and back yard was all dirt, so we had a lot of work to be done. Chuck listened to all of our requirements and with his expertise, together, we were able to improve upon our vision. In my opinion, what separates Chuck from the others is his ability to work through the entire process, step by step, making us feel comfortable with the decisions we made when we were unsure. And every time, he was right. Ultimately, the finished product was everything we could have asked for.

We were undertaking a fairly major project in our back yard with no experience whatsoever. Chuck Verburg was highly recommended to me by the company from which we were buying the built in components, such as bar-b-cue, table and refrigerator. Chuck was thorough and professional from the beginning and a delight to work with, as he helped me through the planning process and oversaw the work. One of my favorite things is that he took us around to a few of his past projects to show us his work, and this truly helped us clarify both what we wanted and what we did not want in our particular yard. His team was excellent, especially the men who did the rock work, and Chuck was completely involved in all steps in the process. When we changed our mind about certain aspects, he took it all in stride. For instance, we had a three tier water feature put in that was supposed to remind me of the sound of a mountain stream from my native state of Montana. Instead the pump was so exuberant I only heard the pump and it was anything but restful. In short order Chuck showed up with a different pump and switched it out. The bottom line is Chuck will do whatever it takes to make the customer happy. I'll never forget nearing the end of the project and being surprised to see Chuck suddenly going by my kitchen window pushing a heavily laden wheelbarrow. It was loaded with big rocks and plants; Chuck got down and set about making it look like my fountain had been there for years, nestled perfectly in the landscaping. He had already been paid, but to Chuck the work is not completed until all details are right. I am going to try and figure out how to put in photos because we did not originally even have a fireplace in our project, but with Chuck's advice decided that straight our out French doors it would be the perfect feature. We already have so many good memories of times with friends and family around that beautiful fireplace, but it needs a picture to do it justice.

Chuck is the best! Outstanding hardscape work. Great design. Very pleasant to work with. Totally dependable, and a great guy. He had a good understanding of the materials and what would make our backyard look good and fit in with the house. Our backyard looks great year round and we use it like an extension of our house. It's our favorite place to share a meal with friends and family.
