Elliott Brundage Landscape Architecture

Thank you to Elliott Brundage for helping us design our backyard. Before, it was unusable and now, with the help of Elliott and K&R Landscaping, we have an outdoor "room" that we love!

Elliott was wonderful to work with. We interviewed 3 different companies and went with Elliott for numerous reasons, he listened to what we wanted, asked a lot of questions and he laid out how the process would work, better than anyone else. Elliott throughout the process implemented our dreams for our yard far better than we could have imagined. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to plants and trees and his suggestions regarding the hardscape were beyond our expectations. The plans he presented to us were detailed and easy for all the contractors to implement. Elliott is the consummate professional and we would highly recommend him.

We hired Elliott a couple of years ago to help redesign our backyard. We were not ready to take on a full renovation all at once but wanted a plan we could execute over time. Elliott was unbelievable patient with us and, more importantly, listened to what we wanted. We were thrilled to have detailed plans and even a 3-D video design of our newly imagined backyard. He also worked closely with us and took the lead on securing all of the necessary permits required by the town, saving us a ton of time and hassle. We were excited to take on the first phase of our work, which was the installation of a new sport court and landscaping surround. Elliott oversaw all of the details with the contractors and was always on site when needed and doing alot of behind the scene work to ensure the project was done well, to plan, and on time. Our family loves the new sport court and we spend alot of time out there. We can't wait to finish the rest of the project and update our pool surround and decking. While it's been almost 2 years, we still remain in close contact with Elliott. He's been such a pleasure to work with, and we highly recommend him for anyone seeking out a landscape architect!

When we decided to upgrade our landscaping to a more thoughtful and integrated design, we were fortunate to select Elliott to provide the expert support and planning for our project. Not being experienced in these matters, we quickly realized how much value Elliott brought to our project. In addition to evaluating the space and providing a detailed digital survey of the existing site, he listened to some of our initial ideas and goals and then drafted a comprehensive plan for both hardscape and landscape enhancements. In doing this, Elliott modified many of our ideas, explained tradeoffs and relative costs, suggested practical enhancements and changes, and allowed us to avoid many problems. In particular, Elliott was able to select appropriate native trees and plants that would enhance the site and address some of the more challenging issues, including steeps slopes and transitions to woods. We also had a number of discussions about the replacement of our back deck with an extensive bluestone patio with large firepit feature. When we decided to go forward, we worked with Elliott to get bids from contractors, discussed those bids with him and modified them somewhat, and went forward with executing the plans. Elliott helped us select the trees and plants at the nursery, inspected the work as it progressed, and made sure that the plans were followed. The end result is a transformed outdoor space that we are very pleased with. Elliott was always responsive, helpful, and optimistic, which was much appreciated given that the project had several phases, took many months to see to completion, and was stressful, as these projects are.

We are in the process of redesigning our landscaping and met with Elliott in the fall in order to get a plan and estimate from him for the project (which we intended to begin in the spring). When we met with him, he told us he'd get back to us with a preliminary estimate. We didn't hear from him for over three weeks. Once he did email, he merely said that he was busy with work and couldn't assist us with the project. Wouldn't recommend him.

Elliott was incredibly great to work with on our large front yard project. He was reliable and punctual and very easy to reach and responsive at all times during the project. His design was beautiful and we love the results. Highly recommend Elliott for all hardscape and softscape design needs!

We have been extremely pleased working with Elliot. His ability to understand what we were looking for generally, provide options and then work with us to refine was very much appreciated. He worked with us to phase the project when we decided that we weren't ready to go ahead with the full project at once. We started the project with some degree of urgency and then life got in the way and we were very slow. Elliot was very understanding and when we were ready to move ahead he switched gears immediately, finalized plans, went out to bid, got the necessary permits and got our project started more quickly than I expected given that all delays were on our side. The project involved increasing the curb appeal of our property and addressing specific problems around drainage, sight lines when exiting the driveway, and the desire to add a parking area. Elliot took our general direction, provided options and worked with us to finalize the plans, secure bids and get the project finished. Elliot designed a complete makeover of our property and we couldn't be happier with the process and the result. He was knowledgable, patient, and thoughtful through every stage of the project. Elliott was great from start to finish. He came to our house, walked our property with us, made suggestions, asked great questions, and developed a plan. Elliott interviewed landscapers, made a recommendation on who to use, and served as manager throughout project--advising the landscapers and ensuring that everything came out great and as promised. We hired Elliott to design a backyard space at our New Hampshire home featuring an outdoor kitchen and stone fireplace. I provided Elliott with pictures of fireplaces found on Houzz and identified features that I liked. Elliott incorporated the ideas into a unique design which perfectly suits the environment. Elliott presented two exceptional landscape plans and then worked with us to tweak the design we chose. He is very knowledgeable about plant material and collaborated with me to select plants that would complement the design and be low maintenance. Elliott solicited bids from two contractors and then oversaw the installation. He was very responsive to questions or concerns that we had during construction. We are thrilled with the results and the additional living space that the landscape provides. We highly recommend Elliott!

Elliott designed the landscape for our entire property in Lexington including a new pool with a waterfall feature, blue stone walkways, field stone wall and perennial gardens. When you walked through the gate to the backyard, it was like entering a beautiful garden sanctuary. The landscape design was so spectacular that we were asked to be on the Lexington Garden Tour. Our property was a highlight on the tour! Our property was slightly over 1/3 of an acre but Elliott made it feel so much larger and like an oasis. Elliot is currently working on a landscape design for our property in Gloucester where we moved to full time in 2010 when we became empty nesters. We highly recommend Elliott as a talented Landscape Designer and as a wonderful professional to work with. Elliott also is willing to work within whatever the budget is for a project.
