Ellen Roche is an experienced architect and designer who has done an excellent job on our complete apartment renovation. She stayed within budget and the space she created is both practical and inviting. Magically she created a master bath that looks much larger than it is. She was very willing to work with some of our existing furniture and all of our artwork to create a space where both the art and furniture look even more attractive than they did when they were in our previous home.

I am a general contractor that has worked with Ellen for over 12 years. I've worked with a number of architects and received many plans from architects during my 34 years in business, and I will state that Ellen is the most thorough and detail oriented architect I've had the pleasure to work with. Her plans are accurate and well detailed, and from my perspective, that is whats most important. In my line of work, time is money, and when I've got to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to decipher plans or have lengthy conversations with an architect asking questions because their plans are deficient, I'm losing money. In addition, the projects don't run smoothly and take longer to finish. Even though Ellen and I have a good working relationship, and I know what she expects, she still maintains her advocacy on behalf of the client. If there is something that we've done during the course of a project that she's not happy with, she will not hesitate in informing me and expects me to correct it. Thankfully those situations are few and far between. She will not compromise her integrity, and will always dutifully perform her responsibilities to her client. Her talent as a designer is also superb. A lot of designers have one design that they like to do and all of the projects become cookie cutter projects. Every home they do as the same theme running through them; there is very little creativity provided. In the homes that I've worked with Ellen on, you would never be able to tell that the same designer worked on each of them. Her designs are tailored to the tastes of the client, not the other way around, as is the case with many other designers. In my 34 plus years in contracting, I am most proud of the projects I've worked on with Ellen, they are truly magnificent!
