I first discovered Goldspinter in an Our State magazine where I purchased a gorgeous salt box. Impressed with the craftsmanship I reached out to them to commission several other projects for tabletop wares (bread bowls, cake stands, cheese boards, bread boxes). I continue to be impressed with the quality and design of Goldsplinters projects and definitely plan to use them again in the future. I also recommend them to everyone! A real class act and an incredibly talented artist. Highly recommended!!!!!

My husband and I met Chris Perryman of Goldsplinter Studios a few years ago. Chris is a true artist and his his work showcases his incredible craftsmanship. Chris is a pleasure to work with and we would recommend him highly. We couldn't be happier with the work he has done for us. The first project we worked on with Chris was a custom bookcase/media cabinet for the den of our mountain home. Chris worked with us to design and build a piece of furniture that was perfect for our needs. We agreed upon most of the design in advance, but left a few details to his discretion. We are in love with the cabinet he made. It is functional and useful, but above all, beautiful. He added thoughtful touches that make the piece unique and personal. The attention to detail is extraordinary and we were thrilled with the result. After the first project, we were excited to work with Chris again. He built a beautiful executive style desk and made a rustic wood top for a console table we had. When we found an old wood and iron apple cider press at an antique store, Chris build a unique stand for it with an industrial vibe. Thanks to Chris' imagination and design skills, the cider press is now a unique sculpture in our home. In addition to his craftsmanship, design sense and artistry, Chris is a genuinely nice guy and an absolute pleasure to work with.

For our anniversary my husband had Christopher make me 4 gorgeous walnut serving bowls for salads, pastas or appetizers. I love them, and get many compliments and comments about them.

Chris made us a 3'x3'x20" walnut coffee table with a freestanding adjustable shelf for our projector and a door that slides up and away to reveal the projector (like a garage door). After trying to work with several larger companies that couldn't do the level of customization we wanted and several smaller woodworking shops that just would never get back to us, Chris Perryman was a breath of fresh air. He was very responsive, working with us over email with descriptions, pictures, and sketches to come up with a custom design we liked. He was willing to go outside the box and use our heirloom air dried walnut lumber, and modified the table design to ensure the fact that the lumber was air dried wouldn't cause problems later. He gave excellent advice about mocking up the size of the table in cardboard so we didn't end up with a piece much larger than we expected. He delivered the coffee table from Asheville, NC to Arlington, VA, cost included in the price of the table. He incorporated that natural beauty and uniqueness of the wood into his design, with lighter grain featured in the detailing of the door panels. Given that we provided the walnut, we probably could have negotiated a lower price, but working with Chris was so easy and we are so pleased with the finished product, we don't begrudge the extra cost.

My wife and I chose Chris Perryman of Goldsplinter, located in Asheville, for our kitchen cabinet construction and design. We could not have been more pleased with our decision. Chris was not only a real pleasure to work with but his design skills and creativity as a wood artisan resulted in a kitchen that is as beautiful to look at as it is functional to use. We decided to juxtapose a rustic log home with a very modern, sleek kitchen. For the cabinets we used curly maple with an eco-friendly grey stain. The kitchen area is not that large, so Chris set to work making the most of every inch, including a unique set of built-ins beneath the stairs. All cabinet doors and drawers were inset and used hinges and glides that provide a quiet and effortless ability to close. The uneven brick floors were compensated with meticulous measurements resulting in perfectly level countertops. Chris was an integral part of a team of various professionals in and out of the house during construction. He not only worked well with us and maintained constant communication, but had the same professional and friendly relationship with the others involved in the reconstruction process. We already have plans for Chris to work with us on our half-bath cabinetry and storage. We strongly recommend Chris for any job related to cabinetry and furniture making and design!

This guy is fantastic!!!! He built and installed a mantle for me and the piece is perfection. He understood exactly what I wanted from one conversation and created a mantle piece for me that makes me smile each time i look at it. Chris Perryman is professional, artistic, a genius with wood , and also is not bad to look at.

We met Chris Perryman of Goldsplinter Woodworking Studio when we wanted to design a custom butcher block kitchen island for our new mountain home. He came to the house to get a feel for the kitchen and great room space. We wanted a working surface that could take the full weight of cooking and food prep as well as be a design element in the kitchen. Chris took into consideration the finish of the new dining room table and chairs as we discussed ideas. This resulted in the lovely finished product pictured, matching the style of the dining room pieces. He created an island that was custom fitted into the available space, with three drawers and two shelves, one which can be raised or lowered on wooden pegs, and the 4" thick butcher block top Chris built has a lovely checkerboard pattern which was done by carefully varying the grain density of adjacent blocks. The project was done on time and at budget. Several times following the installation, Chris delivered special mixtures of food-compatible waxes that work very well for maintaing the butcher block. It is a wonderful focal point in the kitchen and a fine example of the craftsmanship one can expect from Chris and Goldsplinter.

working with Chris is a total delight . He not only has a vast knowledge of woodworking techniques, he is extremely creative!Collaborating on design /communicating throughout any of the many projects we have done has been fun too!

Chris Perryman has built several pieces of custom furniture for our family. The craftsmanship and artistic interpretation were both first rate. I can absolutely recommend his services without reservation.
