I would give zero stars if that was an option. I discussed my project with Colleen over the phone. I have less than 1000 sq ft of landscaping required but she did not indicate at any time that my job was too small. We did not discuss price or budget. She set up an appointment so she could see the project and I took time off work to be home for the day. I called once in the interim because I had forgotten to write the appointment on my calendar. I spoke with Colleen herself and she confirmed my appointment time and date. Unfortunately, she did not keep the appointment so I called her office. I was told she had left 10 minutes ago, so I thought perhaps she was just running late. After waiting an additional 20 minutes after the phone call, I called the office again. This time I was told that she had knocked and no one answered. The young man asked if I had a dog and he then said that she heard my dog barking when she knocked. 1. I have a doorbell and 2. I was home and didn't hear either the doorbell or knocking and 3. My dog doesn't bark. She hates loud noises and would have hid in the basement if someone was knocking, yet she never left the couch. Finally, I was told she left a note in my mailbox. Nope, no note. The young man took my number but no one called and now my calls go straight to voicemail. She never showed up and then lied about it. If this is the way they do business, do you really want them working for you?

Absolutely great! Coleen is super knowledgeable, responsive, easy to get along with and efficient - and every employee was wonderful. We had them do three big projects over the last year and had a few different crews and they were all great. Nice, diligent, professional and just good at what they do. And they do everything that you would want them to do - like: leave the project the way they would want it left if it were their house, etc. We were able to dial in the price of the projects with them by adding or removing things and they were really good about it - We didn't have to worry about "extras" getting added to the bill. I really believe they want you to get what you want - more than anything. (honestly - half way through the first project, I thought to myself "I don't care what they charge- they're so good - but don't tell them I said that...) We had them do; a large patio, our front walk and lots of planting areas with mulch etc. And if we do a fire pit I will call Hulen without hesitation.

We have used Colleen Hulen from Hulen Landscape design for many years. She has taken our yard from barren and boring to spectacular. We had several issues we needed to work around non the least was a huge cement basketball court. We designed a double shed and split rail fence to give the area it's own definition. It works very well. We have had many complements on our large suburban yard.
