About Us

Janis Stops has been in the business of custom interior decorating since 1989 and has owned her own company since 1994. After receiving a fashion degree from Bauder College she has worked with various trade groups in continuing education. Janis is an active member of both the National and Atlanta Chapters of Window Coverings Association of America and Designers Workroom Council and has been published in the November 2008 issue of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine. Over the years she has built up a wide range of clients in both commercial and residential markets. She takes pride in working one on one with her clients in creating their unique look while working within their budget and time frame. She uses professional workrooms and installers to insure a truly custom job. You can count on her from conception to completion of your project. Janis takes great joy and pride in providing the BENCHMARK quality of products and customer service.

I recently purchased a new home and my dream has always been to have professional window coverings throughout the whole house. Janis at Benchmark Blinds & Interiors made all of my dreams come true! She educated me on the options available and once I decided what would fit my needs and budget, she assisted me in selecting just the right fabric for my roller shades and made great suggestions for my blinds. I appreciated her coming into my home to help me with so I could see everything in my own surroundings. She did all the measurements and placed my order promptly. Janis has been such a joy to work with. Her knowledge of the Benchmark products makes choosing window treatments a very easy process. She is a true professional at her craft as well as being a kind, caring and considerate person. I interviewed 3 other shutter company representatives but knew immediately that Janis was the right person for the job. We have enjoyed our bathroom shutters so much that she is now back doing our master bedroom windows.

Janis does such a wonderful job from start to finish. She personally came over with a car full of samples for me to go through. After deciding what I liked, she helped me decide on the best style for each different room. She is so knowledgeable and professional! It would recommend Benchmark Blinds to anyone looking for new shutters or blinds.

I have been working with Benchmark Blinds & Interiors since 2001. Over the years, my projects have included window treatments such as Roman shades, curtains, and cornices. Also, the custom bedspread for the master bedroom was perfect when I couldn't find what I was looking for in stores. With Janis' work, my house feels good and looks great. Janis is professional and personable. I LOVE working with her! Highly recommended.

The project featured was the selection and installation of wood and fabric blinds at our mountain cabin. This represents just one of many projects in which we have utilized Janis's services. Since 2000, Benchmark Blinds and Interiors has assisted us with home furnishing and design ideas at our home including window treatments, flooring, furniture , lighting, picture framing, paint colors, and decorating accessories. Projects have always kept to the budget we established and were always finished on time. Benchmark Blinds & Interiors has been providing interior design services for me for the last 19 years. The company has provided window treatments, including roman shade, cornice boards, shades, silk curtains and so on. Janis, the owner has provided consultations on wall colors, rug selections, etc. Benchmark Blinds has also made custom bed comforters and upholstery for me. It is a "one-stop-shop" provider of interior design. I have used other big store interior designers in the past and they are not as personable, and cost effective as I have found Janis and her team to be. When it comes to interior design, I don't think of anyone but Benchmark Blinds & Interiors.
