About Us

The first step in creating a beautiful outdoor environment is to develop the plan - THE LANDSCAPE DESIGN. Whether your project is large or small, simple or complex, a plan keeps you on track and saves you money. Landscaping is an investment in your property that grows more valuable each year. Create it right the first time! I want to share my 34 years of experience with you. My work has been primarily in the residential sector, but I have done plenty of commercial projects. There are many aspects of developing the grounds for a property that are only learned by doing. I want you to be able to gain this extra depth of knowledge from this web site. There was no one we trusted more than Nancy Dransfield for the high degree of coordination required to get this done right. We needed to repair a collapsing retaining wall / driveway on a steep hill, among other yard projects. She expertly managed all interaction between 5 contractors for demolition, debris removal & rebuilding w/ proper drainage; concrete team for drainage & garage apron; fence company; paving company; & a professional engineer to help ensure this will stand the test of time. We are grateful, enjoying our new & vastly improved driveway & hilly yard now strengthened against erosion.

My wife and I recently finished a nearly two year project to put in a pool and poolhouse. There were aspect of drainage, retaining wall, patio hard scape, outdoor fireplace, indoor/outdoor bar and tons of landscaping. Nancy Dransfield of Landesign of Va was extremely professional and knowledgable. She incorporated all of our requests and made very helpful suggestions when necessary. She was supportive throughout a drawn out negotiation with a difficult HOA approval process and we are delighted with the results. We give her our highest recommendation for small and large projects as she was not only professional but a pleasure to work with. She has a true talent for her craft.

Nancy Dransfield is one of those rare design professionals who can revitalize a landscape and make it seem as if it appeared naturally. Not only is her design of immense value, her management of the installation and maintenance forces is without flaw. It just seems to get done right the first time. Our firm has used Landesign of Virginia for the past thirty years on our commercial and residential properties. We are in discussions for another engagement at the present time.

Amazing! After completion of a new facade for the front of our home, the new landscaping is what really made it POP! Now it looks as nice from the inside out as it does from the outside in. Landesign provided complete details and was there during the course of the entire project. We will be continuing this year with the back yard!
