I recently had work done in my home by Sean of Fine Line Construction. Sean added wainscoting, picture frame molding and doorframes to our main entryways. Sean's work is amazing!!!!! Fine Line Construction was recommended to us by our broker. We met them last year after interviewing several other firms. I thought they were hungry for business and knew what they were doing. We signed a contract in the Fall, but because of a number of steps we needed to take, the project did not get started until the Spring. The job was done quickly, professionally and on budget. I believe their carpentry was exceptional. Sean and his partner were very pleasant to deal with. I have recommended Fine Line to several neighbors.

We used Fine Line Construction/Ren to do the finished carpentry on an apartment combination on an Upper East Side pre-war apartment. They were hard-working and a pleasure to work with. They stuck to their bid, though we agreed with them on two rounds of extras that we worked together to price before doing. They were enthusiastic and comitted to getting everything just right but at the same time respected our need for estimates. They framed and hung original doors, installed new baseboard, picture rail, and built on site a few shelves and closet interiors. They also helped us solve a few puzzles (including a built in bunk bed and panelling and trim around a somewhat complex and curving staircase). Since we used old doors and door hardware, they faced added challenges that some other carpenters would have not wanted to take on. They take pride in their work and were dedicated to our getting a good outcome and serious about their craft. I came to value their perspectives on other open questions on the job (with regard to some of the other trades - floors, painting) because they understood what we were trying to do and cared about the whole project working out.

Sean and Fine Line Construction/Ren renovated my commercial space and I couldn't be any happier. They took the vision for the space that I had in my head and made it happen despite some quirky structural elements of the space that had to be worked around. They did an incredible job maintaining the unique vibe of the old building while creating a clean, bright and airy space for my new wellness studio. Fantastic and I have already recommended Sean and his crew to friends and family!

Sean re-did our deck. He ripped off the non-compliant side rails and replaced with all new stiles, replaced all the flooring, and re-built the staircase leading up to the main level. He did a great job and everyone who sees it remarks on the fine craftsmanship. He's also insulated the crawlspace under our front stoop and fixed several interior closet doors so that they close properly again after years of being out of alignment. He is professional and charming to boot. MMc
