One of the Southeast’s foremost residential designers, Carter Skinner has built his reputation on designing beautiful, livable fine homes and estates. While he shares his design talent across the East Coast, many of his finely detailed and historically based home designs can be seen in his home-base of Raleigh, NC. His residential design philosophy is grounded in a passion for classical building design, which found root during his childhood, flourished during his years with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and deepened in his time working under his mentor, prominent Raleigh architect Arthur McKimmon. Specializing in custom design of new construction, renovations and additions, Carter’s eye for appropriate detail can be seen in every home he works on.
