About Us

SOLscape first opened its doors in 2014. We are a fresh, new company! Founder, Jon DeHoyos, has been in landscaping since 1997. He has been involved with all aspects of the industry, but what he is most passionate about is design. In addition to landscaping, Jon is a professional artist, and he brings his artistic eye to landscape design. While working with color, texture and timing he makes sure that your landscape is as sustainable as it is beautiful. We are proud to be the Hartford area’s first permaculture oriented landscape provider. We specialize in organic and sustainable landscapes that will thrive with little attention. We take the time to understand both the specific conditions of your landscape, and your vision of an ideal outdoor living space.

I would not hesitate to hire SOLscape again or recommend this company to my friends.Jon was very personable yet very professional.He did what he said he would do and was very reliable. He listens to the customer and is a great communicator.The quality of his work is excellent.His years of experiance and extensive knowledge allow him the artistic license to create gardens that are living works of art. And when all is said and done, the gardens he designs are beyond the scope of what you could have ever imagined. Even though our project was quite extensive, there is no doubt in my mind that Jon could design gardens of any size and any budget that would take your breath away....

After installing a new walkway last fall, I was looking for someone to landscape the front and side of my house. I envisioned a design that would not only complement my new walkway and my home, but would require minimal upkeep in the years to come. I was immediately impressed with Jon's knowledge and approach to his work. Arranging the timeframe for the work was easy and without incident. He was very professional and kept me informed throughout the project. In summary, Jon provided everything I was expecting and more and within my budget. My neighbors have complimented me on the new "look" of my home. The quality of the plantings and the overall design has transformed the look of my home and I continue to be pleased every time I arrive home. I highly recommend Jon!

Jon arrived on time and wrote his estimate after our conversation about the scope and objectives for the project. He is a good communicator who responded to questions and suggestions in a timely and professional manner. His design was creative and within budget. The work was started and completed as scheduled and I am very happy with the result. I would hire Jon again and recommend him without reservation.
