Anthony Ronning - Architect

Tony redesigned our lake home transitionining it from a non- descript poorly designed house on a beautiful piece of property to a comfortable, efficient home which garners many positive comments from visitors. He transformed both inside and out of the house to a aesthetically beautiful home which exceeded our hopes and expectations. We have lived in this home for a couple of years and are constantly pleased at the ease of living and efficiency of space. We are sure none of this would have happened without Tony’s creative skills and willingness to work with us on a design that fits our lifestyle. He is an artist and is fun to work with!

My husband and I live in a modest home so every square inch counts and we knew we needed a good architect to make quality changes that add both function and beauty. It has been great to work directly with Tony to plan our home improvements – of all sizes. Just our front and back porch, for starters, have gotten many compliments because of his design details, nice scale, and material selection. Hardly anything is left up to the builder. He has thought a lot about how it should be made and his drawings are complete – this insures that we get the result we wanted and not a compromise.

Tony was great. He handled every challenge we gave him and turned our project into a cohesive, flowing, mature, fun, esthetic gem. He incorporated all our ideas and desires and added so much. Some of our favorite aspects of the finished project came from Tony. (see before and after pictures) He was very thorough and detailed, and never presented or promised an idea that he couldn’t do. But what really stands out is the big picture. The proportions, flow and balance – and all on a raised ranch where we kept the footprint and brick façade of the original house. He achieved conflicting goals, for instance: - In adding a second floor, he cantilevered both front and back (for more space), and, despite the open floor plan on the first level, he found utilities paths to, and support for, the upper the level. I don't remember the contractor ever questioning the plans or scratching his head or having any question or problems. Tony brought some really important things to this project - both big and small, conceptual and detailed, and made it all work. We marvel at the result of his diligence, creativity and wonderful esthetic.

Tony's ability to invent new solutions and sensitively blend them into existing architectural details resulted in a beautiful and seamless remodeling of our home. We greatly appreciated being given multiple options with easy to understand, in person, explanations of the drawings. Tony suggested quality contractors and due to his attention to detail and creativity, we still get compliments on our remodel years after the fact. We would gladly work with Tony again and have recommended him to others.
