I strongly recommend Twig Landscape Design. After living in my home for many years, I finally decided to invest in some extensive landscaping after seeing Twig's fabulous work on my walk home from the train! Every part of my experience with Michele was a dream. Though she is a one woman operation, she is incredibly organized, and transparent about her process. I did not have a strong vision for my front yard, and she guided me to something I'm excited to show off. Additionally, I really appreciate her dedication to sustainability, and her deep knowledge of plants. Her drawn designs are truly a work of art. She is also a very patient, super lovely and kind person-- and works with an excellent yard crew. I plan on using Twig for my larger backyard project, and I recommend unreservedly.

I really appreciate Michele's professionalism and enthusiasm. Her process is will organized, with set meetings that are easy to schedule. She explains every step of the process at the first call, which helped me feel confident that everything would go smoothly. And it did! The design meetings were a lot of fun. Michele came up with a great design for my front and back yards, which were previously just sod. The installation process was stress-free. Jose and his team were professional and courteous and did a great job. The final walk-through with Michele was detailed and informative, with tips on caring for the plants and trees in the future to keep my new babies thriving. She has been there every step of the way and has answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. My house feels more like a home now.

Michele was so much fun to work with! Her knowledge of plants, water mitigation and hardscape is so extensive, and she is so creative in her designs. Every plant was chosen carefully and with purpose. Jose & his crew installed beautiful pavers and our backyard is an entire new "room" that we love to hang out in! Even after install, Michele continued to check back in and answered all of my questions. We couldn't be happier with Twig!!

As soon as we began the design process with Michele, we knew we had picked the right person to help transform our small backyard space which was overwhelmed with concrete into a beautiful and usable space for our family. We discussed issues we had with our current space and how we might address them, as well as changes that could be made to help us enjoy the space more. Michele ended up presenting us with three designs, and we ended up picking the elements (hardscapes, plants, ground covering) we most liked from all three. The process was fun and stress-free. In advance of installation, Michele and Jose (the landscape installer) were prompt and communicative. Even when we had some slight hiccups during the permitting process, they were vigilant and persistent. In the end, Michele designed and Jose and his team installed a space that has been a great fit. Even the inspector from the city noted that the space was beautiful in his report.

Michele was amazing to work with. She listened to my needs and designed and executed beautiful, cohesive, and detailed plans while working with my budget. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable on landscape, hardscape, water mitigation, and building/property codes. Jose lead the install team and they were just as detail oriented as Michele. Great team to work with and I hope I get to work with her again! It was a late fall install and these pictures are year 1.

I hired Michele to work with me to beautify our outdoor space- both front and back yards. She thoughtfully obtained insight from us on what we wanted to see and how we wanted to use the spaces. Sustainability and low maintenance were key- in addition to staying within budget. We were happy with the options that she presented to us and the facts that we can do the installment in phases! She also works with a great landscaping crew. We also appreciate how she worked with our timeline on things. We could not be happier!

I couldn't be happier with the work of Twig Landscape Design. Mchele is one of the most fabulous designers. She works with people in an incredibly caring and thoughtful way. She takes great time, thought, and creativity to understand who her clients are and what they are looking for. She then enhances their ideas with her own brilliant ideas and plans. All of this excellence led to our gorgeous backyard patio and front yard. I am especially grateful that Michele put so much effort into not only the design but the kinds of plants and trees she suggested. Every single plant was chosen strategically--for it's colors, for how it changes throughout the seasons, etc.--and all of the plants were considered in relation to each other--and towards ensuring the larger yard flows together but also has diversity and something extra special and exciting to look at and watch over time in every single corner. THANK YOU MICHELE! We feel so lucky to have had you design our yard. Our neighbors and anyone walking by stops and remarks on how gorgeous it looks. One neighbor texted me as soon as it was done saying..."I'm coming over to relax in your yard! It looks GORGEOUS"

We loved working with Michele and the landscaping crew headed by Jose! We did a huge overhaul of our front and backyards, including landscaping and hardscaping. Michele listened closely to what we were trying to achieve, and we loved the design she came up with that matched our aesthetic perfectly. She was very responsive and helpful in giving us options when we needed to break up our project into 2 phases. We could not wait to work with her again this past spring to complete "phase 2" in our backyard. Jose's crew did great work, and we appreciated the communication between Michele & Jose to put our design in the ground. We've received loads of compliments from neighbors and friends ... and we are inclined to agree that our yard looks like it could be out of a magazine.

Twig was great, from concept through installation. Michele's creativity and enthusiasm are a pleasure, her process is clear, and she coordinates very well with the installation crew, who are terrific. Michele is very knowledgeable about plants that support wildlife, are native, and work together in plant communities, something that's not obvious to amateurs, as my previous garden demonstrated! We got a lot of information on maintenance, and they installed soaker hoses to allow the plants to thrive even with the summer installation. Can't wait to see the plants fill in as we enjoy our new patio!

Twig is amazing, and did both a huge amount of prepwork and research for us, as well as delivering an absolutely gorgeous final installation. We love our backyard and spend way more time in it than we did before Twig redesigned it for us. We recently moved into an old Victorian house on a smallish lot, and the previous owners had clearly picked landscaping that was easy to maintain. We have two young kids and the yard wasn't very well setup for them to play, so we asked Twig to redesign the entire landscaping (both back yard and front space). Michele came and walked through the property with us, both offering good advice about things we might want to consider as well as listening to what we'd come up with. We had ideas for the back yard that she incorporated into her designs, but we didn't have much plan for the front other than "make it pretty". She came up with 4 completely unique designs for each space, including sketchings of paths and plantings, and then reviewed each with us extensively. Since she'd given us so many ideas, it was easy to pick and choose the elements from each design that we wanted, and she then melded them into the perfect final plan. She arranged for a crew to come cut down old trees, removed asphalt and concrete, and then installed hardscape and planted all the living elements. She then walked us through how to care for each and every plant, in terms of watering, pruning, and fertilizing. She also described how each area would look in every season. We loved the entire experience working with her; she wowed us consistently, and it felt like she really took care of us throughout the whole process.

We are so impressed with our experience with Michele and José! Michele did a property walkthrough with us and took our half-baked ideas and came up with four different ideas for us that were all beautiful! We especially appreciated that she noticed a drainage problem and worked a solution in to each plan. After we okayed the design she made a final mockup that included specific plant choices, and as soon as her contracted installer José had availability we had a new, beautiful yard in one week!! We could not be happier with our experience with both Michele and José!

After crushing rains last Spring, we got really fed up with dealing with water in the basement. Digging up our concrete slab in a finished basement and installing a sump pump didn’t seem like the best option for us at the time especially after hearing several horror stories from friends and colleagues about how their sump pump died and they got basement flooding regardless. I spent a lot of energy last summer trying to connect with professionals to help solve our water issues. Everyone had an idea, but most were very destructive to our finished space or very expensive. Ultimately we felt that managing surface water and regrading the yard and crumbling back patio was the best answer for us. Enter Michele from Twig who helped us with drainage solutions for our water issues. A killer patio and beautiful, drought-tolerant plantings we’re icing on the cake. Michele came by last Fall and offered a few project ideas we could do right then to help manage Spring rainfall. She returned this summer with her install team to transform our front and back yards into beautiful, functional spaces. Jose and his install team did back-breaking work in the blistering heat to dig 3’ drainage trenches for our permeable walkway and buried downspouts. They cleared nearly 1’ of topsoil to regrade both front and backyards to keep water away from the foundation. Throughout the process, Michele was very attentive to our goals and receptive to our ideas. She salvaged and reintegrated many of our existing plants to reduce waste and cost. She heard my “granola” schemes and incorporated many green ideas into her design. When the brickwork pattern seemed too “pattern-y” to my eye and my husband thought I was crazy, Michele listened to my concerns and intervened to rearrange a few bricks to really make the pattern sing before it was installed permanently. All-in-all she revived our front and backyards—complete with drainage solutions, new plants, and patio/walkways at a cost that others had quoted for just the patio hardscape install. She was very thorough and transparent in describing both her design/install process, timeline of the project, as well as the cost of labor and materials. Once the materials were on deck, install was impressively fast. We could not be more thrilled with the whole process and our new space. My husband now wants to spend time outside. Worth it!
