Universal Countertop Inc

My general contractor used Univeral Countertop for the slab, removal and installation of my new countertops. My project with Universal Countertops was not handled very professionally. The day before my scheduled install date, Universal told me that my slab was not there, so they could not do my install on my scheduled install date. I had already arranged to take time off from work for this, and already had my tile guy scheduled to do my backsplash right after the countertop install as well, so this was a big inconvenience. Universal got my slab in two days later and scheduled me for install today, December 18, 2023. Three installers showed up at my house. They had no wheels or dolly with them. I have a large center island in my kitchen which Univeral was aware of from their template. Again, the installers arrived with no wheels or dolly to wheel the old island countertop out, and new island countertop in, safely and easily. Instead, the three of them tried to pick up the old island countertop to carry it outside and they could not lift it by themselves. They asked my tile guy who was here to tile my backsplash, if he could help them lift it, which he did. The four of them managed to get the old countertop out and the new one in. This was not very safe to do. It was raining out today, the ground is wet, someone could have slipped and gotten hurt, or dropped and broke the countertop. They knicked one of my kitchen cabinets when lifting the countertop up that luckily my tile guy was able to repair for me. I was trying to work from home while all of this was going on and they left without saying anything to me and without having me come and check to make sure I was satisfied with everything. This was not a very good experience at all. I am extremely upset. I feel that I should get some money back for the way all of this was handled.

My wife and I are in the middle of a kitchen redo. We've picked a color for the cabinets and the only thing we now need is the granite for the countertops. Our decoration specialist suggested we visit Universal Countertops to look at the granite available instead of looking at pictures. We drove all the way to Westborough, MA and we are thankful that we did. Their product specialist Larissa was fabulous. She tirelessly escorted us around to view all the available pieces. We liked the first one she showed us and after looking at many more she teased us that it was going to be hard to choose another on because we were going to always compare them to that initial one we saw. And she was right

Outstanding Team at Universal Countertop! Friendly, knowledge, professional, and easy to work with. I ran into several snags on my end with meeting deadlines, but Universal Countertop was patient with me. They really wanted to me find a kitchen countertop I loved. Can’t wait to come back late fall for my vanity tops.
