Jamie has been helping us to design plans for a reconfiguration of the downstairs of our house. He has been patient and accommodating and has listened to our needs. He has suggested things that we would have never have thought of and by using online tools and a doll's house approach we have been able to view reconfigurations in a 3d way. Rather than building a big extension to get extra space, he has looked at our existing living space and suggested ways to remodel that to reduce the build cost of a extension.

We approached Jamie Robertson at 7db solutions as we were planning a side / gable end and rear extension to our drab 1960’s semi. Loving the contemporary look of some of the larger house we have seen around, we wanted something a little different . We knew we wanted to rebuild the detached garage closer to the house and build above and out into the rear garden and create a large open feel to the house but couldn’t see how this could be achieved due to the garage being at a lower level to the house. Our first consultation with Jamie we found him polite and professional. He listened to our individual requirements for our home. One wanting the open plan kitchen / breakfast room, the other to keep the garage as a garage and an additional outdoor area. Both of us, wanting a new master bedroom. Jamie came up with some incredible ideas beyond our wildest dreams. He had utilised the issue of the different levels between the house and the garage to the side by lowering the garage further to create an additional 3rd level. This not only gave use the master bed room (with and on suite, vaulted ceiling and balcony to the rear ) but a 5th bedroom too above the garage. Ascetically pleasing to the eye than other designs we had seen and really giving the front elevation a real wow factor and contemporary look we wanted. We didn’t think of putting back a flat roof on the porch. But increased in size, clad with some cedar and a flat roof with an overhang over the front door, this too tied the old part of the house with the new extension. On the lower level he had designed our open plan kitchen area with precision. Ensuring the space could comfortably handle what we intended it to be used for. Rather than like friends extensions, once they were built, they found the corner sofa they wanted, didn’t fit! The outdoor area he had created by continuing the roof line to create a large over hang, bringing the outside in. A very usable space, even on a damp evening with the clever roof design. We love the design Jamie has drawn up for us. Amazing and clever use of space we needn’t know we had. I would highly recommend Jamie and his creative ideas for any project big or small.
