In February 2021 we bought a 1970's 'executive style house' with the idea of making it more 'contemporary'. We had an idea of what we wanted but it was Adrian who patiently interpreted 'our vision' into a 3D design. It took Adrian several attempts as between us we stretched the engineering and steel requirements. We ended with a design that was not only open-plan, but which had a distinctive 'into-out' feel utilising extensive large pane glass at the front and rear. The design was submitted for Planning, who were initially totally against the front elevation, however Adrian stuck to his belief, that 'it was our house for our retirement' and after numerous discussions with the Planners ,some minor styling changes and an agreement to follow the same window design throughout , Adrian got us through the Planning process. We would highly recommend Adrian.

We recently commissioned Adrian Cooper Architecture Ltd. To design a medium sized extension and to re-model the current downstairs living space. At every stage of the process from initial discussions/sketches/3D drawings to dealing with the local planning department; Adrian was always on hand to deal with any queries. He came up with some great design ideas to maximise the space. I have worked alongside Adrian as town planning consultant in relation to a number of challenging developments. These include a scheme for 9 houses on a difficult site constrained by potential river flooding, for which we were successful in gaining approval. Our most recent case was an appeal to The Planning Inspectorate. This followed the Local Planning Authority's refusal to grant consent for the erection of a porch on the front elevation of a cottage in a conservation area setting. Adrian produced a clear and well-presented suite of drawings and supporting documentation in connection with the original planning application, and additional drawings illustrating the village context of the property to accompany the appeal. I consider the visuals produced by Adrian were instrumental in convincing the Planning Inspector that the proposed development was consistent with the character and appearance of the locality, and the appeal was consequently allowed.

Very pleased with the service from Adrian. . He had some innovative design ideas which I'd never have come up with without his help. O was teying to make my 3 bedroom home into a 4 bedroom house with decent sized bedrooms as well as a bigger kichen/diner. My extension is presently being built and am.looking forwards to completion.

Despite the clear distance between us, Adrian turned up as an extremely enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable Architect. I was informed by a previous Architect that I stood no chance of having plans passed for my project but Adrian dismissed this view, taking a pragmatic approach, reassuring me that it was possible, therefore I contracted Adrian to undertake the job and I'm pleased to say that he succeeded and planning permission was granted. Adrian Cooper has been a joy to work with - direct, able to explain technicalities, knowledgeable about the building profession and options and materials. He has designed and extension bathroom for our home. He has also been adept and negotiating on our behalf with the Council on boundary and access issues. Recommended.

Absolutely outstanding!! Adrian completely understood our family needs and the aims of the project before we began. The design only needed a few tweaks because he listened clearly to everything we needed. We were then faced with our planning being turned down which would of increased cost for us and weaken part of our design. Adrian conducted further research and submitted further detail to our application. This dedication and going the extra mile is what (only a short time later) meant we had our permission granted.
