We are passionate about creating exceptional buildings and places, whatever the size or budget. The practice is led by Stu Kent who an architect with many years working in residential and commercial design both in the UK and abroad. The first stage of all projects is listening closely to our clients to understand their aspirations and requirements, only once this is done can we start drawing. All projects are designed using 3D computer modelling which allows us to thoroughly test concepts and refine the small details. The 3D models also assist clients to fully visualise and understand the designs as they develop. Our rigorous approach leads to designs that are both creative and affordable.

Stu Kent was the lead architect on our Whistler Vacation Home project. He worked closely with us to make changes to an initial concept design, including increasing the scale of the project by nearly 50%. We found Stu a great listener, taking full account of what we were looking to achieve with the design and not forcing us into decisions we were not yet comfortable with. This was very important given this was our first experience with building a home. Stu also made significant valuable recommendation with respect to the interior layout and design of the finished spaces, working very effectively, and in a coordinated manner, with the interior designer, builder and project manager. In fact, all those related to the project commented how much he added to the project, above and beyond what other architects may contribute and that their interactions with Stu were very positive, well coordinated and significantly beneficial to the overall project. With respect to cost management, we believe Stu particularly excelled in identifying opportunities to achieve cost efficiencies while remaining true to our desired final design. Throughout the project, he would work closely with the builder and other stakeholders to identify potential cost savings or design enhancements. He pro-actively communicates with all stakeholders, including, importantly, the owners. We have no hesitation in recommending Stu for any projects or roles that he may have an opportunity to work on in the future.”

I would highly recommend stu for any architectural need you may have for a project. He was clear extreamly helpful, knowledgable and provided extreamly accurate detailed drawings. Stu replied to any enquiry from myself regarding planning permission and the process extremely promptly and took all the pressure of us regarding desions and dealing with the council. Stu also dealt with the council most effectively at all times. Our planning permission was approved and we where extreamly satified with stu and the service he provided. We would not hesitate to recommend hoot architecture.

Stuart was so very helpful to me during my recent planning application to Durham council. He was prompt and efficient, indeed he visited the property within a day of me contacting him and had all the plans drawn up within a couple of days. He even completed and lodged the application form with the council when I was experiencing problems doing this online. He did all this for an exceptionally reasonable price. I recommend his company’s services without hesitation.
