James Clague Architects (JCA) is a RIBA Chartered Practice based in Canterbury serving clients across Kent, Sussex and Surrey. We specialise in the extension, conversion, and alteration of residential properties. We are particularly expert in working with period buildings and buildings within Conservation Areas, as well as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whether working on a private home or developing a property for commercial purposes, we enhance the life of a building and its occupants by sensitively introducing modern design and technologies whilst respecting a buildings history and traditional construction. We thrive on working in partnership with clients to ensure we deliver the best possible service and building outcome. The practice offers full architectural services including: - Feasibility Studies & Planning Advice - Heritage Appraisals - Planning and Listed Building Applications - Building Regulation Applications, Specifications and Tendering - Contract Administration and Site Supervision Our team’s passion and expertise for protecting and enhancing buildings of historic importance is at the forefront of what we do. In the last two years, not only has our turnover improved year on year we are securing more exciting and challenging jobs with bigger construction values. Although our specialism is working with historic buildings, we are also able to apply our skills to commercial and small to medium developments. At the end of 2022 James bought BSF Consulting Engineers, a structural and civil engineering firm based in Canterbury. Having a passion for small business James saw the opportunity to grow an engineering firm alongside an architectural practice. We are now able to offer our clients BSF services as part of our own.
