Modus Architects is a design-led architectural practice established in 2013 and based in the Isle of Man. The practice works across a variety of sectors on projects of widely differing scales, from master planning to exhibition design and from corporate headquarters to furniture design. Our RIBA Chartered Architects specialise in obtaining planning permission for houses or registered buildings, statement buildings or special family homes. We consider our specialism to be high quality contextually informed architecture and enjoy having a broad range of projects in the office, from the master planning of large commercial developments, to the on-site delivery of prominent and culturally significant public realm schemes. Our ideal clients are progressive institutions who rely on us to produce creative and innovative design solutions to meet challenging briefs, helping them to realise their ambitions and reinforce their values. We specialise in projects that demand a sensitive approach to landscape, the local built environment and historical and social context. Many of our projects involve facilitating new uses within complex urban and rural sites, such as areas of high landscape or coastal value, and conservation areas. Every project is approached as an open ended enquiry, favouring dialogue, adaptive design, collaboration and patient research, over the imposition of stock solutions or preconceived style.
