ROC haus Architecture

ROC haus are a fantastic architectural design firm and highly recommended. From the first time we met Andrew, we got a great feeling that we didn't get from competitors. Rather than obsessively push us to answer a set of formulaic questions to plan our house extension (e.g. how many rooms do you want, how much will you spend, how many sq. metres to extend by, etc.), Andrew asked us about our life (e.g. our family, how we used our spaces, what was important to us about our existing house, etc.) and came up with a proposal off the back of this. It felt like he wasn't trying to oversell or short-change, but instead was always keen on helping us make the right choices for us. This extended into the more detailed design process with Andrew and Sabina. We never felt rushed into making decisions, and our uncertainty was met with guidance and more questions, rather than impatience or frustration. Andrew would make a point of never saying 'no' to something he didn't agree with, but instead to 'show' rather than tell how it might not be the right decision. This meant we stayed informed and in control throughout. Sabina would always come up with creative ways of trying to solve challenges for us, and she was always happy to keep finding a solution that would work for us. Overall, we've really enjoyed the experience of working with ROC haus. We received planning permission on our first application, and we intend to use ROC haus throughout our project because of the relationship and trust we've built with them.

I’ve been in contact with Andrew Sheeley – Senior Partner, Chartered Surveyor and Creative Director for the last three months during the major renovation project of my Victorian home. Andrew has advised me on how to find the source of building issues, signposted me to competent tradesmen and a structural engineer. The tradesmen he has recommended have been extremely helpful during my renovation project. ROChaus was recommended to me by a friend who’d just completed a fabulous home extension project designed by them. I’m so glad I used ROChaus for my project. I found them professional and organised and all-round good guys. I’m very happy with the plans they came up with. I was quite unsure and indecisive through lack of experience with building projects but they were patient and kind and helped me with decisions by clearly and simply outlining all the possibilities and their implications/cost etc. We’re at the tendering stage now and they are also helping me with this. We used Roc Haus to design our rear single storey extension. Sabina really listen ti our brief and designed something way beyond our expectation. Due to price rises etc we had to make amendments to our original plan, and Sabina was super flexible and worked hard to keep as much of our original design with cost in mind. The result is amazing, it has changed the way we use the social areas of our house and the amount of space we now have is fantastic. Just a few finishing touches to go and some new furniture and we are done! We are so proud of the extension! Thanks from Amie and Alex.

I recently bought a run down house that was in need of lots of extensions and a general refurb. After discovering ROC haus through recommendations and meeting Andrew and the team, I proceeded with ROC haus... I am glad I did. The whole process was made so easy, it removed the stress completely. Andrew had great ideas on on the layout for the house, which we had not even thought of. Chrystalla and Sabina on the architectural team were a joy to deal with. Very creative and competent. Planning was achieved with minimal fuss! We had a difficult neighbour to deal with before the build started. Harkishan and Karen on the party wall side of things eased my neighbours concerns and protected the relationship. Thank god! We are now getting on with the work and I'm so glad that the planning and party process was dealt with so smoothly. Building can be stressful enough! Definitely recommend to others! Roc haus helped us from start to finish and we can't thank them enough. They designed our dream family home, liaising with our neighbour to get a large joint application granted, which enabled us to have the 4 bedrooms we required. They also helped me get the structural engineering package in place, completed the party wall process for us, recommended contractors and advised on the contract once we had selected our preferred contractor. It was so helpful and reassuring to have them behind us throughout the whole process to make it as easy as possible.
