About Us

Luxury brand ROKOS creates playful, sculptural objects that behave in unexpected ways. Exceptional objects express their personalities, like the crystal Gauge vase, which takes on the behaviour of a flower by leaning over as if it is wilting as the water level goes down. The angle of the Gauge's neck indicates the level of remaining water, suggesting when the vase needs a top-up. The objects have won the Red Dot and the German Design Awards. Products have been featured in Wired, the Sunday Times, Monocle, Icon, Damn, Design Exchange, Nowness and on a poster for the London Underground, promoting master's courses at the University of the Arts. The brand's designer, Jim Rokos, originally worked as a model-maker in the film industry. He went on to teach at a special needs school, before completing a Master’s degree in Industrial Design at Central Saint Martins, London. After graduation, his work was Design Parade selected and won the RSA Design Directions Award. Jim curated Dyslexic Design, which challenged perceptions of dyslexia by accentuating its positive effects and its close association with design. Dyslexic Design was widely featured in the press and won a London Design Award. Many now consider Jim's work to be a symbol of the gifts that dyslexia can bring.
