Established 1997, Oak Homes specialises in traditional timber frame, restoration, CAD design and fine joinery. Our main focus is on traditionally joined timber frames. Each timber frame is individually designed, in house, and hand-built in our workshop in Branscombe, South East Devon. We offer a sympathetic timber restoration service and have carried out many repairs on historic and listed buildings working closely with listed building control and the historic monument authorities of England and Wales. Our joinery is related to our timber framing projects we also undertake joinery work involved with historic building conservation. We enjoy working closely with all our clients to ensure that you get as close to your original ideas as possible. Each building or structure is constructed with the care and attention to detail derived from many years of experience and accrued knowledge of timber. Our timber frames are made from responsibly farmed French and occasionally English oak, Douglas fir or larch. All our timber is selected, graded and cut at a local saw mill in East Devon to reduce delivery distances and keep our carbon footprint to the minimum. Traditional timber framing is a versatile method of construction and can be used to build anything from barns, covered porch areas, garden furniture to entire homes. We are broad-minded and open to all ideas.
