Oldtown Joinery is a family owned specialist joinery business which has since 1992 been involved in the design, manufacture and installation of the finest quality hand-built bespoke staircases. Established in 1992 by Sean Diamond, we specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of the finest quality hand-built, bespoke staircases. We have a growing local and international reputation for creating exquisite staircases that will add elegance and grace to any home. While other manufacturers have increased computerisation and mass production in their building methods, restricting the element of individuality in the finished product, we have retained the traditional ideals of craftsmanship giving our stairs a distinctive look, as each one is a unique creation. Over the years we have established strong working relationships with architects, designers, builders and materials’ suppliers, which allow us to manage projects large and small with the client’s design requirements as the driving force. Today we are instantly recognisable in the specialist joinery industry and in particular for intricate curved and straight staircases throughout Ireland. One of our most demanding projects to date was to build a near-replica of the Titanic’s beautiful staircase for the Titanic Building in Belfast. We could relate to many of the production methods used by the craftsmen of Harland and Wolff Shipyard as they are reflected in our everyday processes at Oldtown Joinery. The Titanic’s original staircase is arguably one of the most famous staircases in the world, certainly in maritime history and the creation of the Grand Staircase has established our reputation as one of the leading manufacturers in hand-built, bespoke staircases, not just in Ireland and in the UK but on a global stage.
