As can be seen across our website, we are able to produce timber work from simple windows and doors to highly technical joinery. Our portfolio extends from the ancient to the modern. Traditional buildings often feature implements and ornaments of daily life made from wood. Carefully crafted doors, windows, staircases, mouldings and the like evoke the ambience we seek to preserve or create.
Our workshops can reproduce in detail the joinery needed to complete your project. Additionally, where features need to meet today’s environmental and lifestyle standard, we will find the elegant and effective solution.
Brand new items can be designed with the subtle proportions of bygone ages. Alternatively, ultra modern styling can also be combined with the same high quality construction and finish.

Here you will find authentically styled and created bespoke joinery and fixtures whose design is based upon many years of experience and close observation of the detail of period and ancient buildings.
From infancy, David has grown up immersed in the detail of historical architecture (as well as his father’s numerous types of historical transport and other machinery from powered bicycles to steamships) and has been designing, researching and exercising his craft since his childhood up till now.
After such a lifetime spent exploring, playing in, restoring, renovating, converting and living in these historic buildings, David, and his wife Sally Swift have set up the Old Period Property Shop, where you will find some very special windows, doors, wall coverings, staircases, kitchens, and many other fittings and fixtures. All these have the artisanal mark of craftsmanship and evince David’s deep respect and love for the traditions and skills of the past.
