My best bit of advice is to AVOID this company and Scott at all costs. See how 6:59 don’t have any reviews? They have removed all the old Google reviews due to the negative responses.
We employed Scott to carry out a £200k project on our house. Works started well and progress was good. However after 2 months things started to slow and the project started to drag.
Scott is horrendous at communication and IF you actually get a reply it will be by text and generally not answer any of your questions.
After 9 months (of an agreed 6 month project) we decided to part ways with Scott and his team as we have had 20 working hours out of the last 2.5 months and we had over a month inbetween with no works. Scott never turns up to check on his subbies or staff and all we ever heard was ‘we need to be at the other site’ from his lads.
We agreed we would move out of the house for the summer holidays so they could push on and complete the works in readiness for moving back in Sept
When we came back we had to endure 3 weeks of no running water in our property so we had to clamber through building works to get water from outside in buckets to flush the toilets, wash up after meals in buckets and shower under the hose amongst building rubble - how is this ever acceptable with a young family?
We had to have new steels for the extension works and got a text the night before installation that the steels ‘didn’t work’ and we would have to increase the roof line height. What Scott didn’t say was we would now have to have a cold roof construction (now banned in Scotland due to its inefficiency) but just said it would increase the height inside so made it sound like a bonus. So when we were told 6 weeks later we couldn't have our efficient roof no apologies were made by Scott. He even didn’t bother to insulate the steels to prevent thermal bridging as we had agreed.
During the build they left our walls exposed so when it rained the water off the roof flooded directly into the cavity wall soaking the insulation. Scott said it would dry out but after the hottest summer on record the walls hadn't dried out and Scott ignored our concerns and just carried on - leaving us with thermally inefficient walls to go with our thermally inefficient roof.
To add to it all Scott installed a new set of stairs (10 weeks late!) and they don’t comply with building regs (I guess to go with our new foul pipe chamber which doesn’t comply with building regs) so we have to now spend £7k correcting these. Pocket doors having been incorrectly installed so we have to look at the casing now. Brand new doors have to be cut down due to the new door frames being incorrectly installed I.e. out of size & not even plumb. Movement cracks in the wall were not repaired properly so the repair looks worse than the cracks.
They didn’t install the extractor hood before the work tops so now we have to try and not damage £4.5k worktops - again we won’t get building regulations sign off

What can I say. Scott, Su and the gang are amazing. We used 6:59 Ltd for a rear two story extension and to gut the rest of house re-doing our entire electrics, ceilings and more.
After already having an extension completed on our house previously, we were determined to find the right building company that could deliver on all aspects. Feedback into the design, project mgt, open and honest communications, and a team that cared about what they were doing (building our dream home). We are SOO pleased that we choose Scott and the 6:59 team. Work hard, respect everything, and deliver the highest quality workmanship around. I can 100% say that we'll never use any other building/construction company every again other than 6:59 Ltd.
Thank you thank you so much for building our dream home, ALL on schedule as well, even with our huge list of added extras we continuously threw at Scott (WOW)..

Remember how it feels when someone takes care of everything?
Expect the expected? This is how Design 659 advertise themselves, and this was exactly the kind of service we wanted! Unfortunately, the reality ended up being the complete opposite! We had high hopes, as they had been recommended to us by a fellow professional builder - they promised a premium services, fully project managed, well communicated milestones, etc. We had cheaper builder quotes, but we wanted a quality stress-free experience, so we signed up with them From the start alarms bells started as they started off working the expected 7-8 hr shifts, but as the weeks went by this dissipated to 5-6 hrs max, and at one point we didn’t see them for 4 days! A very small project which should have taken 2-3 weeks max ended up stretching into 7 weeks and causing delays to other constructors who were waiting to commence their works (decorators) Communication was woeful, there was no reasonable warnings for tradesman turning up on site, luckily I was working remotely so was able to be on hold to push the project along.
They didn’t even inform Building Control, luckily we had some knowledge of the process so we were able to request they inform the council of building works, without that we would probably have never been registered with them!
Some of their trades man were excellent, the plumber was superb a true professional, and some of the other guys were good but unfortunately the main carpenter assigned to our project obviously didn’t want to be on the project from the start and his workmanship was sub standard, made multiple mistakes including not being able to create the new pocket door frame straight, and damaging one of the floor planks when laying - we had spare but rather than remove and try again he simple choose to ignore undoubtably hoping the customer wouldn’t notice well unfortunately we did! They couldn’t even ensure that the new floor level was inline with the old floor level to ensure a smooth/level meeting of the wooden floor - basic fails.
They didn’t even make the efoort to match the skirting between the old and new zones, even though the other contractors working in the kitchen zone had no issues sourcing the correct skirting so availability was no excuse - just pure laziness
Thankfully, with our persistence they finally managed to finish in time for the decorators to commence, who in their own words spent more time than necessary making good of the shoddy carpentry.
The “Project Manager” our main guy running the show, turned up at the end for a final handover and to obtain final payment. We assumed all the works had been completed, we gave him some honest feedback which he took graciously and we all moved on.
However, after receiving no documentation sign-off as promised relating to electrics and building control so we had to take it upon himself to contact building control. He discovered that they hadn’t been updated by Design659 but would come out to ensure all works were completed.
Building Control concluded that they still needed an electrical certificate and that the extractor fan pipework still needed to be boxed in for fire regs… Why would Design 659 not have known this? It was even listed as a requirement on the original Architect drawings which we had commissioned and had approved! They came back but still didn't complete the boxing correctly (no mastic)
We had to pay another builder to finish off their work so we could finally receive Building Control Sign off!
Expect the expected is their company mantra, such a shame they can’t live up to it!
