Hi Jim,
I have made several attempts to reach you but, you did not reply or contact me back. Jim, it is sad that you feel this way. However, as a company, your satisfaction is our priority. We did everything possible to ensure your satisfaction is met, but you decided otherwise to cancel the contract and gave it to our sub-contractor. In that instance, we had no control over the quality of the end product. Remember, we did not complete the project, and 20 % of the contract sum is still outstanding. In the last email we sent to you shortly after you cancelled the contract, we warned you that we are not going to be responsible.
The Architect design was shown to you from concept to completion, and you approved it before renovation work started. The construction is as per the design.
As per the flooring, your flooring material is LVT, and whenever we finish floor installation, we guarantee it. In your case, we did not complete your floor hence we can’t guarantee it. The same sub-contractor that took over the project did the work and should be held responsible for it.
Bathroom - Remember that you negotiated and paid the sub-contractor to do the wet room without Spectrum Homes knowledge. We always guarantee our work, and that was one promise we made to you. Spectrum Homes did not complete the project due to your decision, and I do not think we should be held responsible for the quality issue.
Roof - we promised that we would fix any part of the roof. We find out that inadequate insulation was used, and we were in the process of investigating when you cancelled the contract. And you knew we were arranging to resolve the issue before you decided to re-award the contract to our sub-contractor. Even after you cancelled the contract, we sent you a phone number of the company that would do the investigation but, you weren't interested in our effort.
Rendering – we were going to fix the section where there was a problem when you cancelled the contract. We did not hand over the project to you because we didn’t complete it. The sub-contractor that you re-award the contract to did the rendering and promised you that he would fix the problem.
Electrical work – collaboration is part of our ethos. All our customers are part of our decision making, and this is something you know. From the inception of your project, we always collaborate with you. And whenever your specification is not going to be achievable, we always inform you. Your specification is what we passed to the electrician that did your wiring. There is nothing that we did that you were not part of the decision in doing it.
Aluminium Sliding Door - Spectrum Homes prepared the opening to the instruction of the window and door company. It is just that there is always a blame culture in the construction industry.
We are still interested in resolving any issue that requires attention if you so wish.
