I have always loved collecting beautiful objects and as an Art Student in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, I would often browse the antique markets and arcades, picking up affordable little treasures that suited my eye for design and limited budget. My first collection was a collection of brightly coloured glass beaded necklaces from the 1900s-1920s, which I still have and often still wear. Then little tins, curios, Barbola Mirrors and teasets. I love the stories and history behind the objects and I'm learning more every day about the artisans and craftsmen and women who turned their art into function, to be enjoyed by the public bringing some poetry into kitchens, dining rooms and bedrooms.
