Danetti

Re the order defect we reported on 9th November. I want to log and escalate a complaint. - There is a material defect with the table shipped. - We have waited patiently for the engineer who came, and failed to send you a summary report until I promoted them over text message. - I’ve no longer the packaging the table was sent in as we have a new build and I didn’t for a second expect the product if this value to come with issues, we removed the packaging for the 3 sets of products we bought on the day they arrived. - As this our first home we have owned we have made a wide range of new purchases. Danetti is by far the least satisfactory company we have bought from. I’m shocked because the branding and online reviews don’t reflect our experience. - Your customer team is really slow to respond and resolve our issue. It’s beyond parody and I have become really saddened by the lack of resolution in a timely manner. - I took time to get help to set this table up from a friend and to dismantle I will have to do the same. This is highly inconvenient. - I want a perfectly set up table as we have invested in furniture for the long term and your company has failed on this. - As a first time customer it’s left a perplexing impression. You seem to try to position yourselves as mid market, continental, but ship cheap Chinese manufactured low quality and defective items. - We have been extremely patient throughout this process and I’ve written to trading standards summarising the points. I wouldn’t usually do this but for goodness sake we reported this matter a month ago.

I have now been waiting 6 months for my sofa to arrive (the order was placed on 27th May 2024). During this time I have been constantly given false information about the delay from the customer service team who are rude, careless and awful to deal with. The first excuse was that there was a tech error which meant that my order was not sent to the manufacturer. The next excuses were that there was bad weather in the Middle East and that the cargo ship had run into problems which meant it was delayed en route. Last week I was told that the shipment was finally now in the UK and I could expect delivery the following week. With no further news I called back to be told that the sofa would now not be delivered for another month. The escalations manager explained that it is because customs clearance takes a minimum of 4 weeks which was out of their control. I said that I did not trust that my sofa would ever arrive but was promised that this time I was finally being told the truth. Unconvinced I did some research myself and was advised by shipping companies that there had been no bad weather over the summer, crossings from the middle east take around 40 days (the only explanation for a 6 month delay would be that a ship had sunk), that customs clearance takes 24 hours unless there is an issue and that I should be entitled to a tracking link. I went back to Danetti to request this and I also complained to the company owners. I finally got a tracking link and the truth that the sofa was still in Turkey where it had been manufactured and it had never actually been on a ship. If I had known this I would have cancelled my order months ago which is why I assume the customer services team are told that they cannot tell the truth. I have raised this with the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman and Trading Standards and I recommend you do the same if you are having the same experience.
