One of our recent residential refurbishment projects was an architecturally interesting 1970s house, complete with double-height spaces, sloping ceilings and a quirky broken-plan layout. At the end of the project it was decided by the client to stage the house with furniture. So many of the staging companies only offered standard developer fare; with relatively bland furniture options. I was so glad to find The Spacestagers as they really 'got' the house, its heritage and proposed a furniture scheme that really complemented the property without being overly kitch and putting off prospective buyers. The finished project received lots of compliments from people who viewed it, and a big part of the was the furniture scheme that Sam & Alexa came up with. The overall look provided an aspirational vision for buyers and the proof of this was that it sold for a decent chunk above asking price (which the client was really happy about). In dealing with Sam and Alexa for the staging they were not only complete professionals but also a joy to work with. They were fair and honest and delivered on everything they said they would, plus a bit more. After commenting (late in the day) that the house could do with a small study desk, Sam and Alexa visited a furniture store on the morning of the staging day and then were hard at work getting the flat-pack built, all within their original fee. I would not hesitate to work with The Spacestagers again.

Wow, Sam and Alexa improved my house so much. The furniture layout just wasn’t working and I didn’t know how to improve the flow. So I enlisted their help with a house review and report. With a few affordable stylish tweaks, its now a wonderful working space that I enjoy. I was super impressed with their unique approach and new ideas to improve both looks and functionality.

I am an estate agent in Cambridge and was instructed by an out-of-area lawyer to sell a cluttered and dated 1960s house on the south side of the city. Sam and Alexa were excellent. They spent days carefully curating the contents, moved what they didn't need into the garage and set the house up to feel stylish, spacious and comfortable without buying a single thing. Before The Spacestagers got involved the solicitor had probate valuations as low as £400,000, but we ended up achieving £540,000, a fabulous result for relatively little money spent.

Sam and Alexa were confident from the start about what the space could become. We felt totally at ease with leaving them to work on their own to declutter and style our house whilst we were on holiday. Sam and Alexa performed magic on our house! The house had been rented out for a while and felt tired and unloved when we needed to sell it. From the moment we met them, it was clear they understood what we wanted. They were incredibly thoughtful about their suggestions, with an amazing eye for detail, and totally aware that we needed to do things on a really tight budget. It was obvious they cared about creating a space that was welcoming and inviting, and that didn't just have a staged 'clinical' feel. I was especially impressed by how some simple tweaks made such a huge difference to the feel of the house. After they had finished the house felt brighter and bigger, and so lovely, that I was tempted to move back in! We had had quotes from a local estate agent before & after the staging and he couldn't believe it was the same house. We were trying to sell in a difficult climate and our first buyer pulled out due to a chain collapsing. Sam & Alexa were wonderfully flexible when it came to extending the staging, and in the end we sold over the asking price, so were delighted!

We had to place our house on the market pretty quickly and Sam made time to come in and stage the place within her already busy schedule. She had great advice on room arrangement and what to declutter, and the house DID sell quickly with multiple offers over asking!
