Acquisitions were founded in 1974, specializing in the restoration of original antique fireplaces. The company's UK showroom displays more than 200 fires and fireplaces. Acquisitions are actively looking to export the English look worldwide. They also supply their period fireplace continuations to all four corners of the world, with 400 outlets in the UK alone and through partnerships with several foundries. Gas, coal and log effect fires are available here. Even in these days of ubiquitous central heating, a house does not seem like a home without a hearth. Whether used for warmth or simply for its aesthetic value, a beautiful fireplace is always a focal point, an imposing presence that lends architectural elegance to its surroundings. As suitable originals became scarcer, we set about the ambitious task of replicating Victorian cast-iron fireplaces and were proud to lead the way in restoring the period mantelpiece to its rightful place in the British public’s consciousness.
