I believe that our homes, no matter how big, or how small, or no matter the circumstances outside of their walls, they should be our own places of sanctuary. If spaces do not effortlessly work to assist us in our day-to-day lives, then they often end up feeling like a barrier to our happiness, unable to bring us the calm and peaceful environments that we yearn for. I have an affinity towards modest, neutral spaces that are minimalist yet also warm and comfortable, and my design style is influenced heavily by Japanese, Scandinavian and Swiss architecture and interiors. For me, they are honest and true examples of spaces that are able to silence the noise, and place emphasis on the significant things, effortlessly harnessing everyday living in a minimalist way. I aim to design with purpose, from the smallest of details to the bigger picture, refusing to give in to trends and fads, and instead help my clients develop a sense of home that is able to narrate the story of their lives and emotionally and functionally enhance the way they live now, and adapt with them in the future. Fiona helped us with a few different spaces in our house. Initially with the lounge, then the bedroom suite and finally our hallway. Fiona is great to work with, she listened carefully to our brief and ideas, checked in regularly and took time to talk us through the proposed designs. I wasn't expecting so many great sourcing suggestions for furniture and accessories. I highly recommend Fiona to anyone looking for contemporary design spaces.

We wanted a more connected feel in the open-plan living & dining area of our 1960’s home which is furnished with a mix of inherited early 1900’s and modern pieces. After listening to our needs and discussing our priorities, Fiona very soon came up with a project plan that involved some bespoke joinery work, a new decoration theme and sympathetic lighting solutions. She kept in touch throughout the project and offered ready advice on alternatives where necessary. Our key tradesman was the joiner who was recommended by her and they worked closely to deliver a result that exceeded our expectations.

I cannot recommend Fiona Wallace Design enough! Fiona very graciously took on our small but challenging project - a whole flat conversion - very last minute and we are beyond happy with the result. Her expertise, attention to detail and time management skills are unmatched. She was extremely professional in the way she communicated with us and with all trades. By using a sophisticated and minimalistic palette of oak, neutral warm beige and black accents throughout, Fiona was able to create the illusion of more space in this small property. Areas of inbuilt joinery magically added abundant storage space on a small foot print. The rooms are filled with light and she was able to bring the outside inside by adding mirrors that reflect the garden. Mostly I appreciate that she listened. The result of this dialogue is a happy and warm space that feels like home. I can sincerely recommend Fiona Wallace Designs. She really cares and and is passionate about her work.

We were so fortunate to find Fiona. She did an amazing job and has a wonderful eye for design. Her background in Architecture turned out to be a real asset for us. The plans and 'visuals' she produced were really first class and helped so much in the design and construction process. Fiona interrupted our design remits intelligently and well. We live overseas and having gutted the cottage very much relied on Fiona's very capable hands to oversee the project. We love our little cottage in Scotland!

The project was a bathroom renewal and I expereinced a professional approach from start to finish. Fiona was easy to deal with and very effective especially when the majority of the design was done remotely during lockdown. Excellent choice of materials and bathroom furniture and very helpful in locating every item. Highly recommended!
