Katie has an uncanny ability to help you explore and develop your style and taste; She clearly wants you to adore your home! She encourages you to try and see past flash-pan trends that’ll feel dated in a year's time and to really understand what actually you’ll always treasure, but we also 'cherry picked' (the best bits) a few items from various styles and trends so that the space wasn't a strict 'theme' and I could easily swap and change items in the years to come. This was all quite enlightening as I realised I do get swept up in ‘the latest thing’, and whilst spending copious amounts of money I’m never actually satisfied long term….the size of my wardrobe can attest to that! Katie made sure I invested my money more wisely, as well as selecting pieces I truly love. The deliveries have started already and I'm so looking forward to completing the room transformation :)

Excellent service from start to finish. We wanted a redesign of our rather sad bedroom, walk-in-wardrobe and ensuite and so hired Katie. Before we even discussed wallpapers and fabrics Katie wanted to make sure the space was practical and suited our lifestyle. The the moment she stepped through the door to the suite I could almost see her brain whirling and she instantly suggested a layout change; it was always weird and never functioned very well, but we'd just put up with it for years. We'd never considered changing the Interior Architecture before, but her suggestions instantly made complete sense and opened our eyes to new possibilities. If we'd just decorated the space, as we first thought to do, it would have been 'lipstick on a pig' (or so Katie coined it); essentially beautiful new decor, but still with the same issues of functionality, and storage. She drew up clear new floor plans and showed us a few options even including furniture layouts so we could visualise how we'd use the space and why the door was in such and such position, etc; she articulated her top choice with good reasoning and we agreed. It worth the investment as it transformed the space and I feel added much value to how we use the space for years to come and ultimately the value of the home too. Katie is worth every penny.

What a wonderful experience :) From our first meeting we knew we'd made the right decision working with Katie; she is an absolute superstar! She made the process fun and easy; like working with a very experienced, expert friend. She managed to interpret our brief into the room of our dreams with details and products we wouldn't ever have dreamed of. Her ability to source fixtures and fitting is second to none with which she demonstrated such tenacity. The curated selection of accessories she presented felt a little indulgent as there seemed to be so many, but she demonstrated the perfect placement for each and every one on the visuals. With a little nudge (didn't take much to persuade us) we snapped up everything; another right decision, as they really were the finishing touches. providing colour balance and pops of excitement whilst filling in all the little spaces and they somehow make it feel so homely. Katie has real dedication and attention to detail in her creations; a sleepless night and a last minute paint colour change is an indication of the thought and personal care she puts into her work. We can't even describe how much we ADORE our new space.

We worked with Katie on our new old home in the Ribble Valley. I loved working with her; fun, professional, efficient, easy-going and she has impeccable taste bring a sense of elegance and thoughtfulness to our home. I wish we had more rooms so we could keep working together. Each design choice is considered and worked seamlessly to give us a contemporary but warm home. I'd recommend her without hesitation!

Worked on a very fast turn around, strict budget project with Katie and she was brilliant. Great ideas, really fast and efficient and so flexible and understanding of our unusual requirements. Katie created an inspirational design for a popular TV series and I would happily work with her again.

Katie saved me a lot of time, money and frankly…headaches! I didn’t know where to start and had selected items already I thought would be ok; thankfully I got Katie in for a consultation where she assessed the layout of the property and appropriate furniture sizes, use and style etc. After discussing how I wanted to use the space she came up with a much better floor plan by removing a minor wall and then a much better furniture layout which optimised the space and made the house flow much better. Thankfully I hadn’t purchased the L shape sofa which wouldn’t (in hindsight) have worked at all! Get this designer in before making any silly and expensive mistakes!

I was apprehensive hiring an Interior Designer, but soon after meeting Katie her knowledge, advise and ideas really reassured me, and it turned out to be the best decision I made. Katie took the time to understand the look and feel I wanted...I was a bit of a closed book at first, but some cleaver questioning made me reflect on what mattered both aesthetically and practically. She also though nudged me out of my safe (and rather boring zone) and showed me interesting and exciting ideas and pieces that I would never have been brave enough to choose. Hiring Katie means I've invested my money into the right pieces rather than making some bad and bland decisions and for this reason, the results were amazing.

To who it may concern I have had the pleasure on working with Maypye Interiors on numerous highly prestigous projects within Cumbria and Lancashire. The various schems, design choices and finishes have blown all our clinets away with an end product to die for. Katie has been amazing. She has a real talent for design and an excellent sense of colour. Katie was able to use lots of visuals to help me get a sense of the the finished result, before any work started, and this enabled lots of opportunities for discussions and project development. As someone who is extremely lacking in confidence around design, Katie has been brilliantly supportive in guiding me through all the work. She has liaised with builders, plumbers, and suppliers, to make sure that the project was completed in a stylish and timely way. Katie is not only a pleasure to work with she is an incredibly talented designer with an extraordinary eye! She is able to cater to a small budget or a grand budget, always bringing all of creativity and energy to the table. I was lucky enough to have her help me pull together a huge commercial job in and short amount of time with great ease and I will continue to use her for my own home and all my other projects in the future!

I contacted Katie after hearing great things about her consultation service. I was a bit dubious as to how clear the remote consultation would be, but my wife and I were super impressed by how Katie used Technology to its best to make the most of it. I’m going to go into a lot of detail so you can get an idea how she really helped us! Our main concern at home was the layout of our cavernous ‘L shaped’ living room, which feels under-utilised, disjointed and the furniture too small, with a sofa at either side of the L; we’ve been scratching our heads for months on how to make it a space we’ll use better and love. After a few questions delving into our lifestyle and interests, Katie came up with some wonderful ideas and demonstrated them by sketching on her iPad a rough layout, which she sent via email so we could discuss instantly She suggested having an open back shelf made that divided the room but without blocking the light (so a transparent wall), this would segment different areas of interest to create ‘rooms within a room’. The side of the room facing the doors to the garden: She suggested 2 seats for us to admire the view and enjoy reading our books in natural light which is our favourite past time (the shelf then acted as a wall behind one of the seats). Then, we loved her idea of adding a bar in the corner which would save us long trips to the kitchen from there and the garden. It feels indulgent, but if it makes us happy and we have the space ‘why the heck not?’! Again, the seating is in front of the window so we can enjoy the garden when raining...whilst sipping a G&T! The back of the room: She suggested that this could be the TV area as we wouldn't get the glare from the windows and it’d be cosier. She then explained that the problem wasn’t that the furniture was too small but it was more the lack of framing the current pieces to fill the space. She suggested adding side tables and lamps either side of the sofa, a large rug on the floor with a coffee table to break up the space We are thrilled, she literally solved our problem within a matter of minutes and really thought outside the box! So we’ve gone from having just a living room, to now, a library, reading nook, bar and TV room!!! What more can I say!!? Katie demonstrated common sense, creativity and a real understanding of making a space suit your lifestyle. I can't recommend her enough.

We had an outstanding zoom video consultation with Katie, she was extremely helpful, collaborative and professional in her approach. This was was unfamiliar territory for my wife and I, but Katie soon put us at ease, with her approach. The zoom consultation came after an initial meeting over facetime, where Katie advised us to use an Ipad for the zoom session. The zoom session, a few days later, was excellent, Katie took us through the process, at a pace that suited us and we were able to share screens, so we could then dip in and out using facetime to reference other information. We had a 2 hour consultation and in that time Katie was able to demonstrate ideas for our living room, its layout, reclaimed flooring, a tongue and groove panelled storage solution (full of character) for an awkward corner that would give the room a better shape by hiding odd angles of the wall, ceiling beams to add character to a room which had been finished too modern, lighting solutions including adding wall lighting, paint finishes and looked the lime wash paint she showed us which creates a rustic imperfect finish, to our barn. She showed us inspiration images of mixing older traditional interiors juxtaposition with contemporary pieces which was right on point for what we wanted but we didn’t know how it would look, or where to begin. She certainly allowed the conversation and ideas to flow between us, she was able to create quick sketches to demonstrate these ideas, bringing it all to life. My wife also was able to discuss different inspirational images she had seen on pinterest, and we were then sent a file over email containing all images that were referenced, a mini sketch of the cupboard solution and the layout we had discussed...amazing service! Katie brought to life the ideas we had in our heads, and was able to easily extract that information, and put it into pictures and words that were easy to visualise, all in a calm and professional manner. We had our doubts that this would work over zoom, but that was quickly extinguished as it certainly did work brilliantly. We cant believe how creative Katie is and we can't recommend her highly enough.

My wife and I would like to express our thanks to Magpye Interiors helping to transform our “snug” into a very comfortable and attractive relaxing room in which we now spend a considerable amount of free time. Katie listened to our ideas and created a design which was clearly and comprehensively presented to us. The project was expertly managed throughout and we were impressed by the professional approach. The choices offered to us were backed up by photographs and “ mood board” . We are thrilled with the result which we would never have achieved without her creative guidance. We are so delighted with the “new room” we are now using her on our second project. We would recommend her without hesitation.

Following on from our initial design consultant review Katie helped us with the installation of the design and refurbishment of our holiday rental flat in Kirkby Lonsdale - Rye Meadows. It was a big projected which essentially involved a redesign of the whole 2 bedroom 2 bedroom duplex flat, sourcing and installing new furniture throughout. Katie was very flexible in her approach and got the balance right with the designs gently challenging us with interesting ideas. Once we finalised the incredible designs she sourced all materials and did a great job liaising with our decorators and coordinating the project with the various contractors we used to make the designs come to life. Katie was also available to help and advise with the final touches. On completion Katie had also helpfully been back and to the flat for the finishing touches to make it look even better. We would definitely recommend Katie for interior design and installation - we look forward to working with her again with our own home.

We used Magpye Creative recently for the design and fit-out of our showroom in Hull, East Yorkshire. Katie is absolutely brilliant! I worked with Katie at Harrods where I saw her faultless skill with luxury brands and impeccable taste of colours and textures. Katie has always been on point with trends but puts her own flair on top to make her style distinctive and elegant. We worked on many projects together, one of the few most memorable were the homewares windows, where Harrods were showcasing all the new brands for the new homewares launch. Katie had a knack for picking an accent piece for a room set that pulled the look all together. Another was the Christmas Harrods express windows, where all the windows had to be full of luscious dressings. It was a big task but Katie's windows had a real wow factor with the luxury brands she chose. It was a pleasure working with Katie and I hope to do so again in the future.

Since meeting Katie she instantly made us feel at ease and excited about the projects we had/have planned. Her passion for interiors, big and small, is brilliant. I hired Magpye Creative to stage my mother’s house before putting it on the market. The house was very much in an older person’s style and I wanted it to have a more contemporary feel with a minimum spend. Katie arrived, looked round all the rooms and made a start by rearranging furniture that was already there and taking things away to ‘declutter’. She made a list of items to buy and we went shopping together that same afternoon. I can honestly say that within 24 hours the house felt transformed! What a complete gem!! I was totally clueless on what to do or where to start with my home and I really just needed an expert and creative genius to point me in the right direction. I hired the wonderful Katie for a Consultation and she really opened my eyes with what could be achieved in a dark and fairly old-fashioned house. We focused on the Living/Dining room; the layout, minor structural changes and reinstating some period features I'd never of thought of doing. Then after chatting and looking through a variety of images she helped me focus what style direction I'd like to take, and inspiring me to mix and match to stop it dating. We also talked about colour palettes and lighting. She followed up by sending me the images we discussed and a list of recommended 'to do's' Katie is very personable and I would highly recommend her to anyone stuck in a home rut!!

Design Consultation Service. We contacted Magpye Interiors to initially provide a design consultation for our holiday rental flat in the Yorkshire Dales. We recently purchased it and it had been used for over 10 years as a holiday home so was looking a bit tired and dated. We wanted a modern feel that would reflect our style/likes as we also use the flat on weekends for our own personal use . However we needed a design that would also be practical and accessible (as rented our for holiday stays across the year when we are not using it) and be sympathetic to the local environment. After having an initial phone conversation, Katie visited our flat with us and spent time with us discussing our needs, likes & dislikes, budget and went round the flat taking photos and taking measurements. She was an excellent listener and took into consideration our views but also gently challenged us to consider other ideas in terms of colours, design, room layout etc. Within a month she had produced a design brief with room plans and mood boards for all the rooms. We were absolutely blown away by the designs that Katie had produced - they fitted the brief exactly and got the balance perfectly right between meeting our practical needs and producing a stylish finish - with interest and sometimes a bit of fun too. Katie is professional, approachable and very knowledgeable. We liked the designs so much we then went on to use her full design service. We would not hesitate to recommend Magpye Interiors.

We hired Katie at Magpye Creative to assist with the design, layout and interior of our luxury new bridal boutique. Katie's attention to detail is outstanding and she takes great personal pride in her work.
