Parker & Jules

Nancy was born to design; growing up in a family of artists and photographers it was perhaps inevitable. With a BA in Printed Textiles from Nottingham Trent Nancy moved to Como to design using the traditional methods of hand painting and screen-printing, exploring the energy that colour and scale create and how to make these consistently relevant and modern. She then moved to Paris to work for trend forecasting agency, Peclers, to gain a thorough understanding of trend origination and prediction. In 2005 Nancy returned to London to launch her print design studio. This business now has 24 designers with two distinct print studios (high end and high street) and Nancy Parker prints are seen on the catwalks of Etro and Donna Karan, she sells to the mills of Chanel and Gucci, and has directed high street print designs from the likes of Zara to J. Crew. Each Parker and Jules print and every colour way has her signature, and she has collaborated with Jules to fine tune design, scale and pattern for interiors. Jules grew up surrounded by English classics: a thatched cottage, a Georgian gem, the London terrace, brown furniture and in a family of antique collectors schooled in the Colefax & Fowler aesthetic. After a misspent youth in Dublin reading philosophy at Trinity, Juliet spent her 20's working in textile product development in Italy, India and Hong Kong. Age 30 she set up a home wear and interiors label called Forever Mine. Liberty was her first client, swiftly followed by Au Bon Marché and ABC Carpets, alongside a long list of high end independents and bespoke design work for high street retailers' home collections. When children arrived she retrained in interior design at KLC, graduating with distinction. Working with Henri Fitzwilliam Lay extended her design horizons, which she has consistently gone on to explore in her interiors blog 'a decorative affair'. Current work includes client projects and an ongoing Masters in the history of the decorative arts and historic interiors, which has helped inform her inspiration and vision for Parker and Jules.
