Run Wild Interiors

We invited Michelle of Run Wild Interiors Bristol, to help us breathe life back into a dull room. She asked us how we wished to use this room, what sort of mood we wanted to create. Also what were our particular loves and interests. Michelle talked about which furniture we would be prepared to change and also what would definitely stay put. So with all of this on board our design from Run Wild Interiors was born. We now have a modern, calming, warm cosy room, which receives many compliments of admiration. It is indeed a cosy room in which to entertain friends, with reflections of our love of Dartmoor in Autumn. So, so pleasing to use. Michelle did a great job. Ideas we would never have thought of, something totally away from our usual comfort zone. It all works beautifully, thank you.

We asked Michelle to help us to visualise a space in our barn conversion project. We have a large open plan space, 10m x 8m x 4.8m high. This space needs to incorporate the living/dining and kitchen and opens out onto the open countryside. She helped us by creating some very useful visuals which enabled us to start to get confident with some of our design ideas. One thing which Michelle did for us was to introduce us to the idea of having a mural on one of the walls. Overall it was helpful being able to tap into some of Michelle's skill set.

When I moved into my basement flat recently, I had no idea where to go with my living room. Michelle has inspired a colour scheme, decor and furniture design that I could never have created by myself. It is now a space that I relish and I love spending my evenings there. Thanks Michelle!

When I moved into my new house I had no idea what to do with my tiny, pale blue lounge - I had no idea how to make it seem cosy or how to make the best use of the limited space. Michelle really took the time to understand how I wanted to use my lounge, and by factoring in all the details of the room - the way it faced, the features, my budget etc - came up with a brilliant design that was personal for me. The mood board, colour scheme, mock-ups and floor plans helped me visualise how it would all look, giving me the confidence to make a pretty dramatic change! Michelle talked me through the design every step of the way, explaining why certain colours would work best in my room, how certain styles and layout of furniture would make best use of the space, and what sort of décor would complement and why. All of this was brought together in the bespoke furniture pack and 'shopping list' which was so incredibly helpful in allowing me to source bits I knew would suit my room at my own pace and to my own budget. I was also grateful for Michelle's feedback and support when I started to paint and had a bit of a wobble - if it was down to me I'd have a very boring plain white lounge so I'm incredibly grateful she gave me the confidence to go for a dark, rich colour that two and a half years on I still absolutely love! I was so pleased with the lounge that I asked Michelle to do a scheme for my dining room as well, as this is a room I didn't make the most of and it's a tricky one for layout and natural lighting. Having seen Michelle's expertise in practice, I knew she'd understand the challenges and be able to give bespoke advice on how to make my room somewhere that I want to use and spend time in. We did the consultation virtually during lockdown which worked really well - with Michelle again taking the time to explain the rationale behind her suggestions and demonstrate that she'd listened to my brief about how I wanted to use the room and what was important to me from the redesign. It's fascinating to hear the 'science' behind the problem solving, and why I should go for certain colours, or furniture, or lighting etc. The colour scheme is one that I never would have thought of myself, and despite being slightly nervous about it (before the paint had gone up!) I completely trust Michelle and absolutely loved it when it was done!

I wanted to make over my bedroom to suit my new lifestyle. I gave Michelle an idea of what I wanted to use the room for and she transformed my expressed wishes into a workable design package that suited my budget. She also provided me with a very useful shopping list which included everything which I needed to buy in order to equip the room and links to the web pages. As a busy working mother I don’t have time to go around the shops so being able to order everything off the list in this way was a godsend. On a personal note Michelle has a real talent for translating your personality and emotional needs into a space which serves them. I would highly recommend her if you want to make over a space in your home.
