Jody is an internationally renowned plantsman who works alongside other leading landscape designers. His passion for plants and outdoor spaces started when he was very young. He began by growing lettuce and annoying his mum by digging ponds in her garden. Jody began his career with 9 years in the RAF. It was whilst sitting in a trench serving active duty that he became aware of the protective element of the earth around him. This developed into a close affinity with nature and the outdoor environment which has remained at the core of Jody's passion for plants and landscape design. Jody used the strategic planning, project management and construction skills learned in the RAF to retrain in horticulture. His understanding of the landscape has formed the foundation for his creative practice. Jody lectures in horticulture, garden design and sustainable practices. He gains great satisfaction from teaching and sharing traditional skills and plantsmanship. Jody is dedicated to driving forward the industry standard for craftsmanship and professionalism. He is currently part of the training team for the UK Skills Landscape squad as they work towards competing in World Skills 2011. We cover every aspect of the design and landscaping process from the initial consultation to project completion. At the design stage we work closely with designers and clients to realise their individual ideas and requirements whilst also maximising the potential of each unique space.
