GRDN

GRDN were the third garden design company that I dealt with, following two false starts with two other design companies, one of whom implied the need for an eye-watering spend to achieve our goals, and the other of which just didn't seem to 'get' what we were looking to achieve. GRDN, on the other hand, did 'get' it, and nailed the brief at the first attempt; and by focussing on what was important, and the judicious use of materials, produced a great design at a very reasonable price. They're also good fun to work with! I'd happily recommend them to anybody.

I’ve followed GRDN on their social media platforms for a while now and I’ve always been so inspired by their lovely designs and presentation of work. When it came to having our driveway renovated I was really keen to have the guys lay our London stone clay pavers. They did a wonderful job as expected. We didn’t take on a full design service as such, but they were forthcoming and helpful with advice and the finish is just perfect, and has made an incredible difference to the exterior of our property. Everyone I met at the company was courteous, professional and reliable. Completely recommend and I’m already searching for a new project to have them back.

We had such a lovely experience with the guys from GRDN. They're very knowledgeable and their attention to detail is brilliant. I'm a perfectionist but I felt confident to leave the guys to crack on, knowing they'd come and ask me to make any decisions if needed. We've ended up with a stunning garden - they worked out all the levels perfectly and laid A LOT of clay pavers, in very straight lines! They covered wood work & construction / precision joinery / paving / turfing / planting design etc. Highly recommend

Our experience with GRDN was a joy from start to finish, from the initial designs right through to the end of the project. Every member of the team was a delight to have around as well as being skilled at their job. They had extremely high standards for every tiny detail of the work. After some fairly harrowing experiences with other tradespeople over the years, working with GRDN was an utter breath of fresh air. The GRDN team were with us for 6 weeks through (a rainy) February and early March. The team were on time, on budget, and stuck meticulously to the pre- agreed plan and design. We have a 3 year old and a 6 months old and so it could have been stressful sharing our space but it was a pleasure to have the team with us. We had our back garden completely overhauled, as well as a functional front garden space built. The design process was exceptionally professional, with clear and well thought through designs which later incorporated our feedback through an iterative process which we really enjoyed. Once we signed off the final design the project was costed and was accurate to the pound. What was ultimately built was beyond our expectations and is an incredible space for our family. We wouldn't hesitate to use the team again or to recommend to others.

I can't praise them highly enough. It was an outstanding experience from beginning to end as they built our garden in North London / Muswell Hill over the space of 5 weeks. Top bunch of chaps. The whole team is conscientious, polite, timely, hard-working, tidy (as much as they can be during certain phases) with great attention to detail - utterly professional. At no point, did we feel worried about the quality of the workmanship (levels, drainage, stone masonry etc). Our house has been a building project for the last 2 years and these were by far the best 'contractors' we've ever worked with - they deserve to go far. On several occasions they went above and beyond the spec to accommodate our wishes (notably doing more than they needed to in repairing our front garden [thanks Blake], dropping the fence levels and washing our conservatory windows at the end of the project!). Finally, where there had been a minor miscommunication in the finish to our Purbeck wall - they were very fair in trying to find a solution that worked for all. I can't fault them - a credit to the profession and very glad we worked with them

We had gone through a slow and painful renovation project and it was then a breath of fresh air to work with Peter, Andy and Paul who were very professional and reliable throughout. Hired GRDN to fully redesign my 45sqm back garden. I was looking for a more modern style and had some quite specific ideas and descriptions of what I wanted. They were excellent throughout the whole project. The design was very high quality and captured exactly what I wanted and had very interesting ideas relating to layout, texture, materials, and colour. The build itself was incredibly smooth and everyone involved was highly professional and made my life very easy through this period. Would also add that the build took place in the wettest November I can remember where it was raining almost daily, but the team battled through the rain with limited delays which was extremely impressive. I highly recommend GRDN, great design complimented by great execution. Also very nice bunch of guys so that's a big plus.

I couldn't be happier with the beautiful garden the GRDN team has designed and created for me. From the very first design meeting, I felt tat the team really understood my vision and how I was hoping to use my outside space. They prepared two excellent design proposals, talked me through different budgeting options and the pros and cons of different materials and planters, etc. Having just gone through a somewhat painful renovation of my flat with a different contractor, working with GRDN was such a refreshing and positive experience. I never felt like I needed to check up on work and progress, got lots of proactive updates and was really impressed with the high standard of work. Furthermore, the whole team was an absolute pleasure to deal with. They had to access the garden through my flat's very narrow hallway and were working just metres away from the room I was doing my WFH time from and I barely noticed their presence during my working days. They took extremely good care of my freshly renovated flat. They also didn't lose their sense of humour when 2021's version of "the beast from the East" with snow and temperatures below zero meant they had to adjust their work schedule, or when my very energetic dog escaped into the garden multiple times to "say hello" (i.e. got in the way). The overall result is stunning and even better than I had hoped for. It feels like the perfect extension of my indoor space and I cannot wait to spend the summer in my new "outdoor living room". Thank you GRDN team, I hope we get a chance to work together again!

Grdn were brilliant from design, implementation through to completion within budget. Their ideas are innovative and fresh and our garden is functional, beautiful and unique. The materials specified are of the highest quality and were sourced within the timeframe specified. Professional and highly recommended.

We moved into a house with a very neglected corner plot the garden having been used to park wrecks of cars being stripped for parts. The garden was then turned into a building site as our house was completely renovated and extended. From this absolute mess the team at GRDN worked with us to design and then implement a completely new garden. The added complication is that we live on a hill so the first task was to accurately survey the ground. We wanted a garden that would be easy to maintain, wheelchair accessible with plenty of space for entertaining and for grandchildren to play. The result was a large tiled patio at the back of the house leading to light gray brick paver paths and a tiled pergola area. The driveway to the garage in the back and much of the front garden are covered with black basalt chips with climbers at the back and a dwarf acer at the front plus borders. The fencing is a work of art built like everything else with complete precision as was a tailor made handrail for the steps up to the front door. The garden also has a built in irrigation system. Peter and Andrew helped us select and source mature espalier fruit trees, climbers and ornamental feature trees. Their advice, ability to obtain large trade price discounts and expertise in manoeuvring heavy trees and mature climbers into place were greatly appreciated. GRDN were well organised, worked to budget,kept us well informed and were also really nice people to have around.

Peter, Andy and Paul are a dream team. They are professional and personable, the design and execution of the garden is spectacular, and their communication is reliable and spot on. I couldn't recommend GRDN more.

We worked with GRDN after they were recommended by friends and I'm so delighted with our garden that the team designed and built. They did a brilliant job from concept through to completion with a very high standard of work and really beautiful planting. The space was a bit of challenge being a long and very narrow garden that hadn't been looked after for years. They've made the most of the awkward space and zoned it perfectly - it flows well and feels so much bigger than it did before. They were also able to make subtle tweaks without drastically impacting the desired final design in order to meet our budget. They also gave us a clear indication of timelines from the start which they met. Brilliant, the team really listened to my ideas and designed the garden accordingly, consulting me on every step. Great job from the GRDN team - they transformed the front of my house by replacing some mismatched and uneven paving stones with beautiful York stone, which was perfectly laid. Very professional and expert work.

Having recently moved to SE London I engaged with GRDN to design our rear garden. After an initial consultation, which included measurements, photographs and a collaborative ideation session the design process was extremely efficient and thorough picking up on all the ideas which were discussed. Two options were produced which enabled us to imagine what the space would look like in both 2D and 3D. I cannot not fault the professionalism and creative output of the team which covered each vital detail within the garden, as well as the nature the work was carried out.

As a Garden Designer I have worked with GRDN on several projects of different scales now and would highly recommend their services.
