If you’re reading this review because you’re trying to pick a garden designer, trust me, stop, you’ve found them! As someone who is extremely thorough with a high attention to detail, I had high expectations going into this project. I mean it when I say Rob from UNL has surpassed them. Why? 1. His design process is organised and thorough. Rob really considers all your needs, listens and produces designs that nail the brief. 2. Robs knowledge of materials and planting is incredible - this means you can really create some exciting concepts and you’re safe in the knowledge that Rob really has considered all options 3. Rob isn’t afraid to tell you when you’ve got a rubbish idea or suggestion and why it’s bad - important skill for any designer when a client starts suggesting roque options 4. His involvement - as part of Robs design process, he works with the landscaper which really helps take the pressure off and ensures the build sticks to brief. He’s also quick to identify if something isn’t right and correct it. 5. He cares about his projects - Robs work ethic and desire to create a great end result is incredible. I’ve never had a service like it. He treats the garden like his own and will do whatever it takes (weekends, evenings, rain or shine) to get the job done. This is rare and a great asset to have. I would 100% recommend Rob and UNL to anyone that wants to create an incredible outdoor space. He really is the best option out there

This is the third visit this year that Rob Mills has advised on my townhouse garden which consists of 60 feet at the front and 200 feet at the rear. It has some trees over 160 years old which include Yew, Scots pine and Lime. There are multiple boarders, a pond, lawn and a long pathway down the side of the house. The garden had very little colour other than green and was overgrown and tired. I asked Rob to improve the appearance of the garden, bring back balance, preserve as much of the quality plants, shrubs and bushes as he could and introduce where appropriate new traditional and contemporary plants/shrubs. Robert has given me choice on complimentary plants and options in the moving of existing plants to improved positions taking into account seasonal changes, light and soil type. The areas around the pond have been replanted with a mixture of traditional and contemporary plants suitable for damp conditions. The long pathway has been revamped with an improved foliage mix and colour. On his advice, my gardener has had more confidence in pruning and already the benefits of his guidance are being seen. I have been impressed by Rob's ability to take multiple views of the various subsets within the garden. He appreciates the size or cluster of plants to get maximal impact. I have felt involved in the design at all times. Thank you Rob. I look forward to further advice as another year passes though its seasons.

Rob looked after the design and landscaping of our back garden, in a new build house from beginning to end. We wouldn’t have known where to start but Rob took us through the design and planning, which we found both helpful and fun, with drawings and plans (from concept design to a detailed planting plan) which helped us to understand what we actually wanted. He then helped us find a contractor to do the work, and choose the right tree which is significant expense in the process. We are now enjoying the garden and are delighted with the result.

We have been very happy with the exceptional service provided by UNL Studios. We had some thoughts that could improve our garden experience but were unsure as the the practicality of these ideas. Rob listened to our ramblings, researched our wants and came up with great solutions. The finished design has given us so much more than we were expecting and the space is now used to its full potential

Rob was great! He understood our needs and in few weeks he sent the draft of our new garden.
