Vicki designed my garden about 7 years ago and has returned to give it a makeover as, unfortunately, due to the weather conditions of last year the grassed area was attacked by Chafer Grubs eating the roots of the grass. I decided to dispense with the lawn altogether and she has created a Mediterranean look with pebbles and a couple of beds planted with ornamental grasses and shrubs. It's low maintenance, which I wanted and looks fabulous. I'm delighted with the end result. Barrie worked hard setting it all out to achieve the look that I wanted.. I thank them both, what a team. I certainly recommend Vicki, who listens to your needs and guides you with excellent suggestions.

Vicki designed a wonderful garden based on a small number of our requirements. The result was far better than we could imagine. It was then fascinating to watch Barry build the hard landscaping on a daily basis. Finally to see the garden come to life with Vicki's planting. Both Vicki and Barry were very helpful and provided information about how to look after the garden and when to do what. We thoroughly recommend them if you are thinking about upgrading your garden. Vicki and Barrie designed a new raised flower bed beautifully constructed with new fence panels topped by attractive trellising. All this as a frame for climbing plants and two flowering Crab Apple trees whose considerable height is to take the eye away from a new building project against my boundary. The raised bed is under planted with a variety of flowers for colour throughout most of the year. Both Vicki and Barrie included me constantly in the decision making and were amazingly patient and understanding when I changed my mind or needed further explanation. I loved them being here and am absolutely thrilled with the result. Thank you both, it is just what I wanted and more so.

Vicki and Barrie did a wonderful job of designing and building our garden. They were extremely friendly and professional and we are delighted with how our garden has turned out. We had a lot of elements that we wanted to incorporate in the garden, including colourful plants, a veg patch, a rabbit area, and a space to eat, BBQ and entertain. Vicki managed to somehow fit all of those things in and more, whilst maintaining a consistent modern feel throughout. The best bit now it is finished is seeing the plants starting to develop and how the colours transform from month to month. We have now asked Vicki to create a lighting plan for the garden and hope to get them installed in the coming months. Overall, couldn't be happier and would highly recommend!

We have a had a very positive experience with Vicki and Barrie and are very satisfied with the wonderful garden they have created for us. Communication has been very positive and we have made mutual amendments throughout the project. Vicki spent a lot of time explaining how I should care for all the plants and shrubs throughout the following seasons. We are looking forward to seeing how the garden progresses for the following few years, especially as the hidden bulbs start to flourish in the spring. Our garden has been transformed and we are very impressed with the patio, paths, borders, plants and shrubs and all the little incidental ‘extras’ that make it personal to us. Vicki helped us to transform the site of our house renovation project from a set of old outbuildings and crazy paved back garden into sweeping lawn areas with a newly styled patio and excellent planting areas. Vicki was good to work with and her collaborative approach was much appreciated. We are very pleased with the final result which has drawn very favourable comments from friends, neighbours and passers-by who have witnessed the transformation.

We worked with Vicki to completely landscape our rear garden and also make more modest changes to the front garden. From our research it was clear there are many garden designers who do 'modern', but we wanted something a bit more traditional with year round colour and thought Vicki's experience fitted the bill. We are delighted with the end result and with how Vicki guided us through the process. I have quite strong views on certain things and fancy myself as a bit of an amateur designer (so probably a designer's nightmare!), but Vicki listened to our ideas and, with her experience, explained why things would/wouldn't work and producing a design which ticked all the boxes. Whenever we were faced with uncertainty Vicki isn't afraid to say 'I think you should do X because...', which was the help we needed. We would also recommend Vicki's husband's building company to actually implement the design, as it was a huge help having the designer and builder as such a close team, coordinating everything and making our lives easier. 5 stars!

From our first meeting it was clear that Vicki was listening to and responding to likes and dislikes, bringing forward her professional eye to clarify and determine the outcome I was looking for. I was pleased with Vicki’s ‘keep in touch’ communications as she managed my expectation of the time from design to execution - very well done, to time and budget. The landscaping work, structural fencing and path are all of the highest standard. The result is wonderful with a perfect balance of just enough colour, structure and movement to pull the whole project together. The most pleasing aspect of working with Vicki was her clear passion for the plants - through the coldest winter and now the driest summer she has popped round several times to ensure all is well. A climber has already been replaced with the promise to replace any further casualties of the extremes of sun and drought! A very good experience and would definitely recommend working with Vicki.

Totally Delightful. We have watched our newly designed garden continually changed over this year. The design has met all our requirements, giving our small garden depth and interest with changes in colour, height and shape throughout. We wanted:- -colour all year round, this has been achieved through a mix of flower and foliage planting; -an asymmetrical shape, achieved through raised beds and an unusual ‘slipped circular’ shaped lawn; -an interesting continuous path around the garden, colour and texture introduced through use of York sets and York stone flags; -a bee and butterfly friendly space, this request has surpassed our hopes with an abundance of both butterflies and bees; -a continually changing scene, again attained through the planting plan. This garden is going to continue to mature and change, which will give both of us a great deal of pleasure through all the seasons.

I initially chose Vicki Hilton Garden Design, since the completed gardens on her website matched my own taste in hard landscaping and planting. I definitely made the right decision. Every day I look at our new garden and smile, since it is precisely the garden I wanted....and more! Vicki skillfully incorporated my own wishes, such as including a gazebo, a greenhouse and a fountain, whilst ensuring the garden maintained a balanced structure and adhered to a harmonious planting and colour scheme. Special touches were the installation of an amazing Sitting Spiritually Swing Chair and having lights installed strategically which brighten up the garden in the darker evenings. Vicki also took care to handpick trees with perfectly straight trunks and chose plants in excellent condition that give year round interest. I really enjoyed working with Vicki and can highly recommend her for any garden project.

Being an Interior Designer meant that I knew what I wanted our garden to look and feel like but I could not begin to put together a design with the amount of details that Vicki had given in the way of plants and the zoned areas. By having Vicki meant that I could step away from worrying about how I could create the finish look. Vicki was extremely clear in how the project could work and how it would look once it was completed and as a family we are extremely pleased although allowing the kids to play on the new grass has been difficult. We could not thank or recommend Vicki and her garden installer Barry enough for what they have given us.
