I used Colinton Gardening Services to update my old patio and path in my back garden in the summer of 2021. Whilst I was satisfied with the work they did, there are aspect of their service which isn’t professional. Firstly – the scope of work and pricing was agreed in Feb and the date I was given for the work to start was early April. However, they didn’t start until the end of June and it was left to me to keep chasing them for updates during April and May. Secondly - once they do start work, they work 4 days a week from 10am - 3pm. So you need to be prepared for it to take far longer than a usual trade based company. They are not organised either and even though paying for the materials upfront (standard practice) on numerous occasions they didn’t have all the materials needed that day, so one of them would take time out to source / buy. And lastly – at the end I was presented with a final bill which was 12.5% higher than the quote. There was no warning or discussion prior to this and the scope of work had not changed.
