Design Service I can offer a complete design service, starting with a meeting either on site or in the studio where we can discuss structural elements, initial ideas for furniture layouts and finishes a well as options for the control. Depending on the size of the project this might take more than one meeting but from this I can put together and initial proposal for the lighting design. The lighting design will be prepared on CAD and drawn over a full set of architectural drawings, showing the position of each fitting, circuit number, load type and control and will be accompanied by a control schedule from which the contractor can work off. as well as specification sheets for all fittings included in the design. Mood boards will also be provided to demonstrate similar examples of lighting effects used in the design. Should you require 3D's or accurate lux level calculations of the design these can be provided using DIALux software. My Story After studying cinematography, Max Barlow began his career in the creative field of events lighting at Starlight Design, working on large-scale ambient schemes for some of the UK’s most exclusive parties. Before founding Barlow & Barlow Design in 2013, Max joined John Cullen Lighting – the esteemed market leaders in illumination - learning his trade from the ground up on a wide range of upmarket residential and commercial projects. Today, Max specialises in decorative lighting, creating layers of light with configurations that are informed by history and tradition. At the beginning of 2018 Max set up independent lighting design consultancy Maxwell Barlow Lighting enabling him to work more freely with other designers.
