Had Lauzon engineered flooring installed 3 years ago professionally. To this day we get glue coming up through the top. Can scrape it off with a fingernail and it keeps coming back.

BUYER BEWARE! After our house was flooded we had to replace all our flooring in our house. We had a lovey oak flooring from Mirage in the main areas of our house which were in excellent shape after 25 years. On the direction of our contractor we were directed to go to The Carpet Factory in St. John’s NL. We ended up purchasing a Lauzon product. After 3 months installation we started finding cracked boards, cupped boards, and over 50% of the floor has knots that have worked themselves out of the floor and we now have holes in our floor. The installer removed a few of the boards but now there are too many damaged boards. Lauzon sent in their technical team to review our claim but it was denied saying the main reason we complained was we were not pleased with the esthetics of the floor. No we were not pleased with our floor having holes in more than 50% of our floor!!! If you plan on buying a Lauzon product I would recommend you examining every piece of board in each box to look for knots. Do not accept knotted boards because Lauzon’s warrant does not cover it. We now have to get our floor torn up and will have to purchase another product and it will definitely not be a Lauzon product!

We have the pre-engineered Lauzon flooring from our builder. This is absolutely terrible quality.
Our builder. Refuses to fix it. Perhaps Lauzon will step up tot he plate.
We had over 10 planks replaced already as it was cracked. We have multiple others that are cracked.
The edges and corners split, crack and the stain wears off. If you drop anything.. even a plastic cup, they chip.. our floors that are less than 2 years old look terrible!
We have 2 dogs, so expect some scratches… that’s normal.. but this is excessive even our last house, we had 2 dogs, with hard wood flooring… our house was over 10 years old and looked 100x better than these floors.
We had a so called hard wood expert in to assess and we’re told that this allegedly meets or exceeds quality… I think not!
He also confirmed this is not a humidity issue and we are using only acceptable cleaning products.. I see many reviews for this same flooring. Perhaps a bad batch that no one wants to be accountable for?

Bought Lauzon natural to match a floor I had prior to it but made changes to my room and couldn't buy it anymore so I had to match. Match was great color beautiful but some planks cracked once installed. A lot of planks were damaged within boxes. The floor is about 5 times softer than the one we had previously so if you walk on your floors don't get it. It is so soft scratches super easy .

I wish that I would have read reviews about Lauzon engineered wood floors before purchasing the product for the flooring contractor to install. The Lauzon Hickory Madera 5 3/16" floor was installed in June of 2020 and less than 6 months later - in November of 2020 - we had several split and warped boards. Our flooring contractor contacted Lauzon on our behalf to file a claim and Lauzon sent an independent flooring inspector to evaluate the situation. As predicted by our flooring contractor (based on past experience with inspectors) the defects were blamed on the environment. To be clear...the Lauzon product was "approved" for radiant heat floors...however the inspectors report cited high heat readings in some areas (it was January when he inspected the floor) and a humidity level outside of the manufacturers minimum guide line. Why is it that we had an engineered wood floor in the very same area for 17 years (different manufacturer) with no delaminating and cupping...however the Lauzon floor didn't even last 6 months and started to delaminate, crack, twist and cup. Of course our claim was denied by Lauzon and we are now on the hook to replace the flooring. Luckily the flooring contractor will cover labor...however, because Lauzon will not stand by their product, we will have to pay for whatever new flooring we choose.

I love the floors I got when i upgraded with my builder. Its on the entire main floor and uper hallways of my home. However, when we went to add more product into our bedrooms we were dvised that due to the lag in production dates, the colour may be off. Ok...we received our new flooring and began to install it upstairs. the colour seemed a bit off in that lighting and we chalked it up to the colour difference they told us about. my contractor finished that room and installed the second, which was on the main floor. This room has a much longer piece that butts up to the original flooring we had and there is a tonne of natural light in that spot.. I thought to myself, "that colour is really off....this cant be right..I spent a lot of money on these floors and this should not be this different". so we stopped our reno halfway through(2 more rooms still needed to be done) and i reached out to lauzon. I sent them a picture and explained the situation. The confirmed that it was indeed not supposed to be THAT different. Tey asked tat we cofirm with our supplier that the flooring was indeed the same and they would see what they could do..At first they offered me a $500 CREDIT towards new material. I said no. Then when I spoke with another person they offered me a 50% credit on the already installed 2 rooms and then they would exchange the material i had left over for the correct colour. Lauzons stance being that because i installed it, I agreed to the colour. UMMM...NO...I was told there would be a difference. I was never told how much! I am not a flooring expert and was only accepting a colour i thought I HAD to accept..Then to get confirmation that they indeed should not be that off and they wont do the right thing and simply rip up and replace the 450 sf we had put in....Which is what should be done. they sent me the wrong colour..End of story. Armed with the information about colour difference, I only installed it because I thought thats just how it is. The rest of my home has this beautiful floor and now I have 2 rooms that dont match... Their product is beautiful but their customer service is bad.

Good Day Ms. Tamara,
We are truly sorry to hear of the issues that occurred with your floors. The planks should not be buckling or rippling. We highly recommend that you get in touch with your point of purchase to get replacement planks.
It is to be noted that our floors have a lifetime warranty for their structural integrity (30 years).
We hope that your retailer will be able to help you with replacing the damaged planks.

Our contractor installed Lauzon Ambiance Red Oak in every room in our 1900 sq foot home summer 2018. At first we loved the flooring. Within the first few months, we noticed cracks on the edges of the laminate planking. The floor was easily gorged when small objects were dropped (keys). Due to family issues I haven’t been able to research this until today. Now I see that other homeowners have had similar problems. This seems to be a major product flaw.

We've carried Lauzon product lines for over 10 years now in the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area. Their products are geared towards more traditional homes with conservative designs specializing in the staples of North American species such as Oak and Maple. The selection is vast but not overwhelming. Product quality is the strongest aspect of this brand. With over 100,000 square feet installed, the claim rate is less than 1%. Amongst those claims, it was ultimately deemed not manufacturing related through a 3rd party inspection. If you want a high-end floor at a mid-level price give Lauzon a try.

Have had 2000+ sq feet of Lauzon engineered wood for twenty years and it looks as beautiful as the day it was installed. Just replaced another ~900 sq feet of carpet with Lauzon and it’s gorgeous. Now my entire house is Lauzon. Thank you for such a fine product.

I would not recommend Lauzon to anyone. We purchased and installed the Hard Maple 4 1/4 floor. We installed parts of the floor in April and June. The floor over the last couple of months has cracked and continues to crack upstairs and downstairs. The floor fillings are cracking as well and the inside filler is deteriorating leaving spots with empty holes. The store RIO Plancher where we bought the floor accused us of installing cracked planks and blamed the problem on the installation. The Lauzon representative concluded that the installation is fine but its a humidity problem in the house. We are told that we should have never installed the floor in the summer because it was so humid. We have small children in the house so our air-conditioning works all summer, so that cannot be an issue, also the floor upstairs was installed in April and its cracking everywhere. The cracking I was told is normal and although the fillings should not be coming out its not an issue that is covered by the warranty. Recently we were offered one complimentary box from Lauzon as mean of helping us with future repairs which is insulting. The store sales rep sold us the product without giving us any insight on the risks involved with purchasing this product, we were told not to worry because Lauzon as a company has a great customer service and warranty comparable to APPLE and any issues will be addressed by the company so we do not have to worry. Lauzon on the other hand without any factual proof is putting the blame on the humidity of the house which is definitely not the issue. The floor is cracked and continues to crack progressively from week to week. More than 50% of our floor is cracked and 70% of all nuts in the planks are cracking than coming out leaving holes, in some planks the top surface is seperating from the rest of the plank making it dangerous for our kids to play and walk. I do not believe this is normal. Lauzon is not taking any responsibility for the poor quality of their product, they take zero accountability and without any factual data or evidence pertaining to our home and humidity, they simply conclude that it must have been humidity. I find that Lauzon used this as an excuse/reason to minimize our claim and concern and has not taken this matter seriously. There is a obvious issue with the quality of the product we have purchased. As customers we are extremely disappointed that both parties have put blame on other factors in order to get rid of the problem. When installation was fine they found a way to blame it on humidity. I guess this means that is their warranty policy. All claims get denied because the reason for issues is humidity. Fortunately, we are monitoring the situation, documenting the erosion of our floor and humidity of the house on weekly basis. We will continue to push for a solution because we know that there is an issue with the floor and its not a humidity issue in our house this is something that is factual and not hypothetical claim as the one set by Lauzon company.

I would not recommend Lauzon to anyone! Our Initial discontent resided in the distributer whom we purchased the flooring (Factory Flooring Kitchener), but quickly expanded to include Lauzon, and how they manage claims against there products. If you ever have any issues with your flooring, they will not help you at all! The product we purchased was discontinued very shortly after we purchased it, and through followup with other distributers after we learned it was discontinued, we heard it was done so because the product was faulty. When trying to file a claim with them, we received an evaluation, then well over a month later a template response that they can not help. I am a carpenter by trade, and have installed dozens of hardwood floors form different manufactures, and have never experienced a floor which degraded so quickly, despite being installed correctly, and maintained as required.

Hi,
I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your floor. I did make some research with my colleagues to know a bit more about your situation.
Lauzon has been manufacturing hardwood floors since its foundation in 1985.
We are vertically integrated, from the forest to the floor and since then have been mastering the art of producing quality hardwood flooring.
Our promise is to deliver beautiful and enduring floors that will live up to our warranty, within installation and care guidelines which can be found in our guides.

However, we cannot control the external factors that can have an impact on the performance of your floor, which seems to be the reason for the state of your floor, based on our determination.
Since you seem to disagree with our determination, we recommend you seek another opinion from an independent NWFA certified inspector.
Last but not least, the product was discontinued not because of it being faulty, but due to streamlining in our product offering.
We go through this process every year to ensure we offer the right product to our different markets.
For this product specifically, we were facing a lack of raw material, so we preferred to discontinue it rather than not being able to deliver to our customers.
Regards,
The Lauzon team
