I recently had a total kitchen renovation. In that I live in a NYC apartment which has some size limitations, it was imperative that the design utilize every inch of available space. I consider myself very fortunate to have been referred to William Leavy as my architect. He designed a kitchen which is beautiful, as well as being extremely practical. We collaborated every step of the way; Bill was always available to communicate, he listened to all of my wishes, concerns, etc. and incorporated all of this into the evolving plans. In addition, he referred me to both an excellent general contractor and cabinetmaker. If, in the future, I need to hire an architect, I will definitely be contacting Bill. I recommend him without hesitation.

Bill did an amazing job with our kitchen remodel project and we couldn't be happier! From the initial planning through the project completion, Bill was a true partner. He really listened to us as we discussed our goals & budget and offered several options for our consideration. The quality of work, attention to detail and timeliness was superior and he really helped educate us on things we hadn't considered previously. In addition to amazing design work, he helped with project management by sourcing contractor options and monitored progress along the way. William Leavy Architecture PLLC came highly recommended to us by a number of people. We needed to put an addition to the back of the house that we had just bought, and also needed some extensive work done to the existing first floor that would open up into the addition. We met with Bill even before we closed on the house and in that very first meeting, he took in all of our ideas, and drew up exactly what we were envisioning for the space; a kitchen, living room, bedroom with an attached bathroom and mud room. He was also candid about the overall cost of the construction, enabling us from that point onwards to better prepare and secure ourselves to be able to take on such a project comfortably. Within that first hour, we were sold, and completely set on working with Bill to not only design our project, but also manage and inspect the construction phase for us! During the design phase, Bill was very considerate of our ideas, and had a wealth of suggestions of his own. He worked meticulously on the design, checking in with us every step of the way, and had it all ready in a very timely manner. His design was so impeccable that not only were we able to obtain our building permit from Town within a few days, but our very experienced Contractor went out of his way to keep mentioning how on point Bill's drawings were - it was really making the entire job easy for him and to experience that was a rarity in and of itself! During the construction phase, Bill made several visits, and worked in an amiable manner with the Contractor to inspect the work and make changes that were favorable to both us, and our budget. My entire team had the utmost respect for him and Bill, as the main overseer of the project, made sure that every facet ran smoothly! He always made himself available to us to consult with him at every juncture, and never once made us feel that any question and concern was insignificant or that we were an imposition on him and his time. We are now done; we actually lived in the house while the construction was taking place, and I can honestly say I actually enjoyed the entire process - and it was definitely in huge part due to Bill taking charge of the project; his outstanding skills as an Architect, dedicated service and phenomenal capacity to care and offer support really took the pressure off of us! We really got lucky with Bill Leavy and offer up our highest recommendation for his firm!

Bill designed a new bathroom from unused space in my house - between the existing house and a recent addition. This included an ancillary design to conceal drain plumbing due to the location of the bathroom relative to main drain. My house was originally built in 1918 with an addition in 2010, so he had to work within a limited space where the old met the new. The layout, design, and materials compliment both spaces, making it fit very well. I'm very pleased. I'd use Bill again without question.

Anyone that has embarked on a home renovation knows how hectic, frustrating and overwhelming it can be. We think that by working with William Leavy Architecture was absolutely the right choice for us! We are the 2nd owners of a 1948 home and have endless projects to tackle. We lived in it for 5 years before we started the cosmetic work. At first, I felt that we were sort of throwing darts at various contractors, but we weren't thinking of the house as a whole and that is wear Bill came in. Sitting down with him, we were able to think of our vision for the future state and what would make sense to do now that would help us achieve the rest later. We decided to put in a new kitchen, add hardwoods through the first floor, install new windows and finish the basement. We had electrical, plumbing and mechanical work done. Bill put together all of these plans with great detail and laid out a sound plan for the contractor. This renovation really has changed not only our house, but our family life. We can all be in the kitchen at once, something that was almost impossible before. We are beyond thrilled with the final outcome and already have our visions set on future projects. We did go over our budget, however, things came up during construction beyond our control that had to be done to be up to code and we 100% appreciate the care the contractors took to ensure things were done right and not just slapped together. (I also added things as we went :) ) We can't thank Bill enough for his knowledge, cool and calm demeanor and his flexibility. We highly recommend him!

We hired Bill Leavy to design a renovation and expansion to our home. We were looking to modernize a split-ranch into a three-story custom home. Bill gave us several suggestions that nicely incorporated our needs and tastes into dramatic and striking lines. We found him pleasant and easy to work with, even after many iterations!
