Comments (11)http://www.farrow-ball.com/lamp-room-gray/colours//fcp-product/100088 My suggestion would be bright gloss white kitchen furniture and trims (skirting, architrave etc.) .... with black internal doors and lamp room Gray walls. Crisp white bed linen - grey tweed throw on bed - Gloss white bedroom furniture . Small Dining table for four ( that could double up as a desk ) and a grey tweed sofa and footstool - keep it simple - as cosy throws that can be machine washed. Black walnut flooring .... Maybe a pop of colour by using bright cushions to suit the season - cool blue in summer , autumnal burnt orange in autumn, festive red in winter, bright green in spring etc etc !?! .... Just an idea !?!?...See More1 bed - potential 2 bed?
Comments (3)I think I would move the bathroom into the bedroom- by making the corridor by the front door longer you can access it from the hall rather than through the bedroom. Put the kitchen in the reception room as this has fewer windows and therefore more wall space for units. Although this will need to also be a corridor through to the lounge I think you would also be able to fit a dining table in there. Have the back part of the flat as a reception room with either a sofa bed or a pull down bed for guests. At a later date this layout also lends itself to extension when budget allows. I would try to build on the side- I think there is room for a second bedroom where the shed is....See Moreneed help for 1970's 2 bed terrace

Comments (7)Hi, It would be really useful to know which walls you can knock down and feel are awkward? In terms of utilising the space better are you open to considering moving the kitchen into the reception room to create an open plan kitchen living space? The reason I suggest is because adding a second bedroom will reduce the space of the bedroom as you will need to add a corridor. In addition what you have asked for in the bathroom will increase the footprint of the area. I would have suggested a bath tub/shower combined to save on space. As you want a separate bath and shower units this will take up more space, which can be done but you would have to extend the bathroom which is why I suggest moving the kitchen over to your reception room. It is really difficult to advise you in terms of costs as this is subjective to your building, structural considerations and the builder you use. I do believe you honestly need to get a professional architect involved who will carry out a survey and can advise exactly what can and can't be done in the space you have. Yes this will cost a bit of money, but you will get accurate answers than the Houzz forum! Knocking down walls and moving things around is a costly expense no matter how big the project. I always advise my clients to add 10% contingency fund just incase for those unexpected expenses :) Hope that helps Rukmini Patel Interior Design...See Morerinked
