Finished, bright, pretty, cosy, clean, fresh, new or recovered, keeping her favourite things and injecting her personality and spirit back into the room, which had become very bland, cluttered, depressing in its lack of character, and difficult to keep clean. We cleared, decluttered, and steam cleaned the carpet, added ikea shelf lighting and new shell Homebase ceiling light. ( ebay, £10 ) I knew she loved Laura Ashley Lori Duck egg curtains ( £145 ) so we did the wallpaper ( £5) on the chimney stack to compliment and add a little extra colour. We brought in her dining table from the garage, and recovered the chairs in a satin duck egg stripe again from Laura Ashley remnant sale ( £14 ) We removed the old ugly electric fire and replaced it with a B&Q modern pebble electric freestanding model, ( £99 ) Walls are Dulux Gentle Gold, and can't remember the marine/sea blue for the picture wall, but also Dulux. We had to keep her ivory leather chair and old worn out footstool, so we recovered this in a grey linen look upholstery fabric , with a new sheepskin on top.
