Kitchen advice please

Hello fellow renovators !

We are struggling as to the best way to layout our new kitchen.
We intend to put a free standing oven in the fireplace hole in the 2nd photo , and get new cabinets/ benches, dishwasher and run it along bench with small return and move move big fridge to where the oven is now. Will it work ??.
Going to replace Lino with floorboards.
Thinking white cabinets with slight grey stone tops and white subway tiles with grey grout.

Any suggestions gladly accepted, many thanks for your time and input.

when you say 'freestanding oven' do you mean a cooker ? you really need worktop landing space either side of a cooker, and space for handles of pots etc so that may not be the best area. what size is the room. Are you in Europe? the electrics don't look UK size to me ?
can you sketch a plan with sizes and add it as a comment onto the thread ?

We're in. Australia. Thinking that small shelf near cooktop would suffice for oil, implements etc...
Pulled up black and white Lino and there's original floorboards underneath- hooray !!!

Anyone else have some ideas ?

My kitchen was slightly larger but needed the light units. We went with a white gloss, a wood effect dark grey laminate worktop and teamed it with walnut effect laminate flooring. The flooring really warmed the look up In my experience ... I wish I'd have had full glass splashbacks as the amount of sauce that gets splattered on the painted wall would have been easier to wipe off glass! Worth the money in my opinion. I went for white/clear as didn't want to commit to a strong colour. If we had stayed (not sold it) I would have painted around the units a colour which could have easily been changed. You could also consider a clear glass splash back (above the oven) that can be screwed on. That way you can paint or paper behind it and change it when you fancy. Usually they glue them on so you are stuck with it (no pun intended) Definitely look around for a better quality gloss unit as they can chip (sister has high street ones and they always chip!)

Hi, We agree that parquet flooring is a nice idea to help create flow throughout the space. It's also very much on trend, and timelessly stylish too! We'd recommend laying the pattern direction along the length of the hallway and then continuing this direction into the other rooms. The hallway is, after all, where first impressions are made so we'd suggest getting it just how you like it in this room first of all. The second and third mages from Man About the House show the flow well. Alternatively, you could go for parquet in your hallway and planks in your kitchen, in the same colour of wood - the colour flows but this mixes up the pattern a little and gives you the chance to choose your preferred direction in each room. I agree with Forzaitalia and I think you might be able to find a local company who can come in and spray paint the doors and fascia panels, etc., to a colour that suits you. It will make a huge difference and the cost may well be affordable for you as opposed to replacement.

I always try and have some worktop space beside the ovens so you can take heavy items straight out of the oven and onto the worktop without having to walk round the kitchen or turnaround, also I'd infill the towers up to the ceiling so there's no dirt trap above the towers (possibly taller towers depencing on the ceiling height). The glass wall unit and top box in the corner doesn't really work. I can't see any extraction on the plan. I'd seriously consider getting a local independant supplier to come up with a design as they will have a bigger choice of door styles and sizes, bigger choice of cabinet sizes not just in height but depth as well, colour co ordinated choice of cabinets (to match the colour of the doors on the island). More worktop choices (or look on line for your own and find a local quartz? supplier), also look on line to source your own appliances. For the price i see of over 19k i think you can definitely make savings.
