Help to change kitchen colour

You have a small window, which does not look overlooked, and frames the pretty garden, so if possible I would not put up any blinds as this would make the window even smaller. Love to see pics when you have painted. Incidentally Valspar do thousands of colours (B & Q & other places), and there are some great greys amongst them - have just done a 1 to 2 bed apartment conversion in various colours of grey, and they look great....See MoreWhere Can I source kitchen with non-standard size cabinets
Comments (3)You need to consider 2 important points. 1. Raw material sizing will restrict how high you can make your units. You also need to consider transport. Its one thing to make a 3m high tall unit (not possible as most material sheets max out at around 2.4-2.5m) but how do you transport it. How do you bring it round corners in houses etc? 2. Special sizing and slab painted doors are not what you would find in sheds. You need to look at independents or bespoke cabinet makers and yes you would have to pay for specially made furniture....See MoreMatching paint of kitchen cabinets... Will it change over time?
Comments (3)white is probabbly the worst colour for changing colour (yellowing due to UV) over time, if you're painting the decor panels, you'll need the paint code (ral, pantone, BS number etc) used for the doors. also i'd find out the primer being used as well. also find out the level of sheen the doors are. but TBH with a mass produced off the shelf kitchen supplier customers don't get a kitchen that has been painted all at the same time and possibly not all painted in the same factory, its quite common that one factory makes the doors then another factory makes accessories. also if the doors aren't painted but a vinyl foil then a painted panel isn't going to match anyway....See MoreChanging colour of wooden kitchen worktop
Comments (6)I think you've been given bad advice by the wood staining company. I have a wooden worktop in one of my rentals, so, I need to make that look good every time someone new moves in. It's a standard wood block worktop. It used to be a pale to mid tone colour. I decided that it would look a little more contemporary to go dark to match new flooring that I put in. I washed it down with meths to start with to remove as much of the old stain as possible and then let it dry for a couple of days. I then sanded it back down ( not easy around the sink, but do'able ). I then put on a new dark stain and oil, Osmo tint ( Terra ). Sorted and looks great. It was originally this colour, then faded due to the glass roof:- This is it sanded back, re-tiled and prepped:- As you see it's much lighter. It then got stained and oiled twice:- I must confess, that Mrs Math did the brunt of that project, she did all the tiling and stain / oil, I just did a bit of sanding one day and then went off to another job. Well done Mrs Math!...See MoreZhuHai Sunrise-Tech Co.,Ltd
